At Capcom HQ: "We've got this cool idea for a weapon that attacks when you slide. What should the robot master look like?" "How about an angry dude with a train for a face?" "Somebody give this man a raise!"

Like this robot master and all, but anyone else think he should've transformed into a train like Turbo Man and Nitro Man?

Yes. In fact, the original contest design intended for him to. There were extra wheels on his arms for him to fold up, etc., etc. Makes a lot more sense than him aggressively grinding his cowcatchers against the ground. Don't know if they would've been able to animate the transformation on the NES anyway, for storage reasons, but I'd imagine it would go something along the lines of Hachi from Bloodstained 2. Either way, I still personally consider it to be one of the largest butcherings of a Robot Master contest entry.
