Hey MovilOne, thanks for the video! If my USB port hypothetically broke connection at the solder joints, what's the likelihood it pulled up the pads/traces like in this video, instead of just broken solder joints? I'm not sure, it may be inside of the port itself and have nothing to do with solder joints. But, I'm assuming you've repaired quite a few of these and for preparedness sake I'm curious how likely it is I'd be opening a can of worms repairing my phone, not having the proper equipment or materials for a jumper repair currently, and not wanting to leave it torn down due to that. I'd greatly appreciate your opinion. Also fabulous video, especially with how small scale everything you were repairing and still getting on camera is!

What is the paste is it flux? If so what type. Also what is the copper piece you use to remove the solder from the board?

So is the jumper there because there's a bad connection through the tracks in the PCB?
@MovilonePhoneRepair7 жыл бұрын
Yes, because the tracks were broken. Have a nice day!

how to know if there's one broken track?
@MrFredboy6 жыл бұрын
The traces/solder pads lay on top of the PCB, and if one is lifted, it'll just be a spot that's slightly off tone of the board's color, instead of shiny silver like the other traces and solder pads. Not always, but generally speaking you have to lift the pad/trace to break it, and if it hasn't been lifted you'll likely see a burn mark somewhere along the trace where the connection has been broken.

He just ripped two of the solder pads on the board off crappy soldering you should wait until all the solder melts and maybe turn your hot air gun down.
