John madden retired as a raider player in 19”58” that’s why they made regulation final score 29-29. 29+29= 58. Madden joined raiders as a coach in 19”67” and that’s why they made final OT score 35-32. 35+32=67. Learn GEMATRIA and you be able to see for yourself how they script every game or choose to live fairytale land. What a game. When you here someone talk about, "mental toughness". This Raiders bunch gave the world a new definition of it in football. A mental slugfest the likes we only see in Super Bowls. Herbert's 4th stats have got to be the best we've ever seen as well. Then you throw in the last 19 play drive to send it into overtime. Just incredible effort and mental toughness for both team's. I'd say first selection Michael Vick, although his legal trouble caused him to miss some years. Still came back and was dominant changing the game. Drew Brees was drafted same year in the second round. I'd have to role with them as best duo drafted in same year. You also had Elway/Marino, Rogers/Smith and Roethlisberger/Rivers. Only time will tell if Burrows/Herbert will surpass the ones listed as greatest duo.

As a chargers fan, my only issue with it was the fact we ran the ball. I would’ve called a bootleg. Going for it on 4th down is our identity at this point. I would’ve let herbie make a play. I’ve been watching football since the late sixties and that final drive to tie the game has to be the best ever. The receivers were gassed and Herbert was under constant duress for every throw, but came through over and over again on 4th and long. While I initially thought this was the first 18 week NFL season, 1993 which had 2 bye weeks and 2001 which postponed games because off the 911 attack, also had 18 week seasons. So I'll have to compare this season with those two seasons before agreeing.

Now that was a game of football. The determination both teams had, and the 4th down clutch ups were insane. Herbert's calmness and cool to stay in the pocket and take hits for how young he is, is just amazing. He's going to be one of the elites in the league the next 6-7 years with no injuries. What a great game. Games that mean something are always the best.
