I hope the present and future Charger players remember the former Charger legends that played in San Diego. I became a fan in 1963 and even though the team moved to LA and I moved to east Tennessee, I was, I am, and always will be a San Diego/Los Angeles Charger fan. Right on Donnie Edwards you make us proud to be a Charger fan. Blessings to all Chargers past and present and to all the Bolt fans spread around the world from Richard in Cosby, east Tennessee. Edwards was a great player... slender for that era... but very agile and knew how to get a tackle. I went to CVHS a couple years after him... and his name still was mentioned in the hall ways. Love to see him doing so well and giving back... dood found a way to remain humble and inspirational... thats some good stuff.

Donnie Edwards is my favorite Charger. When I played franchise mode on madden 05, I made sure he made the Pro Bowl, won DPoY and even won Super Bowl MVP. I was a huge geek for the dude. I even try to get the number 59 for high school. No avail, so I worn 39 instead.

So awesome to have a hometown player end up playing for the SD Chargers. My wife and I met him in London when the Chargers played there in 2018 as part of the dinner with Chargers legends. He was so down to earth and we shared stories of growing up in Chula Vista and National City. Happy for all of his success and giving back to the SD community.

They are now so well ingrained in Los Angeles the Chargers can now show their history for all those years they played in S.D. Interestingly, Chargers now have stronger support in San Diego than when they actually played there. Go figure.

@@royceskepagny6182 they definitely don’t have that strong of support here. I see people rarely wearing charger gear. Back in 2009 and 2006 EVERYONE was wearing charger gear. I think you’re referring to fans actually caring because the ownership is trying to make moves to win. Those fans will pop up everywhere .they are casuals. Whatever the reason is it’s all because of Justin Herbert. There’s not enough amount of money that they can pay him because he made those fans in LA. Without his production this would’ve been the worst financial move in sports history.
