I have the Delta 2, among other LiFePo4 tech., and I love it. It'll be the unit I grab if I need to go in a hurry. The way things are going, I'd highly recommend people be getting prepared, just in case. Besides having a very portable power station, at least one flexible / foldable solar panel is also highly recommended. Besides food, water, and protection, having electrical power is near the top of the list. A very informative video. Thank you.

Yes… well I just bought a new delta 2 and it came charged at about 25%… or near that… I tested it out on some stuff last night… I also got the double sided eco flow portable panels at the same time… however… they are charging very slow it seems. They come with attached stands, but it’s very difficult to get them to sit at a 45 degree… so I lad them flat, negating the other side… for now… oh and I have a battery… the directions are not very explanatory… but it doesn’t seem too complicated… however the sun is shining no clouds in the sky and it sure seems like it takes a long time to charge. Hooked up to house plug, they fill up fast… now, maybe when I get a better set up that allows the back to work… I’ll get a faster charge… but, without the solar capability… and without knowing how long it takes to recharge w solar… I’d suggest you have several usable units so when you need to be charging one, you have one that is working… or be sure you have the solar charging figured out and are not just depending on charging in a plug somewhere.

I actually own a Delta 2 Max and have been trying different setups. With 12v panels I've actually found a 2s2p 100w configuration works the best and keeps it within tolerations. I've tried doing a 3s configuration and the Ecoflow won't charge due to the panels open circuit voltage being over 60v. That being said I'd easily swap out with something that keeps it below the 60v / 15a max limitation. The Q CELLS 485W XLG103QPD-BFG gets pretty close to that. Overall you need to really read the spec sheet of any panels you're using and understand the open circuit voltage. Otherwise your EF device isn't going to charge. I've also found you're going to get N-1 wattage out. In other words if you have 400w of solar, you're going to get about ~300w out.

A greeting from Slovakia. I live in a block of flats and the panel is attached to the railing on the balcony. I bought a victron energy 175 watt solar panel for my Delta 2 and at the right angle to the sun I get 140-155 watts. The panel is polycrystalline and cost me 125 euros new. Now it costs around 150 euros. If I do not position the panel correctly to the sun, then around 90 watts. In my opinion, it is worth buying two pieces of 175 watt panels and connecting them in parallel and you get 350 watts. Realistically and with a good slope and a time interval of 6 hours (from 09:00 to 16:00) about 280-310 watts. It is cheaper and more efficient to buy fixed panels versus folding panels. Hint : i did compare charging from 34% to 100% and with 200 wat it will need 4:06 time to charge. But with 300 watt is will need only 2:48 time to charge. So massive difference between 200 and 300 watt charging.

You should discuss the fact that panel efficiency is reduced by 1% per year as a conservative estimate. It's probably more like 2% in places like florida where they are generating electricity 12 hours a day for most of the year. The sun takes its toll on all things including solar panels. Environmental pollution will compound the problem if pollutants accumulate on the panels blocking light.

33 panels seems to be the "default" setting for number of panels. This is wayyyyyyyyyyy too many panels. This drives the istallation prices up and extends the payback period significantly. In order to install that many panels on most houses it will require panels to be placed on the north facing where they will never pay for themselves. Homeowners would be best advised to limit their panels to as many as possible on the south side. If they dont have a south side then they should purchase a house that does. Solar panels are NOT for everyone. And they are not meant to be a replacement for the grid unless you are installing batteries, which most do not. Over generating KWs is a bad idea. The power company will pay you pennies for all of you excess KW's that you will generate if you put up 33 panels. And in winter time when the sun is really low, no matter how many panels you have, you will not generate sufficient energy to pay for the cost of the panels. And of course, if you live north of the mason dixon line, your sun exposure is limited for two reasons. 1. Crappy cloudy weather most of the year. 2. Slope of your roof is not sufficient to get direct rays from the sun. For maximum output of the solar panel the panel must be perpendicular to the sun. In D.C. for example, the panel would have to be 31 to 46° for 9 months out of the 12. Someone needs to tell the truth about solar companies sticking it to unsuspecting homeowners. 5KW is all 90% of homeowners need to give them the savings that they want.

From what I'm seeing here, it's okay to exceed Delta 2 parameters for voltage, amps, and watts without doing any PERMANENT DAMAGE to the Delta 2. When you exceed voltage you get no power. When you exceed watts and/or amps it just uses up to it's max of 500 watts / 15 amps and the excess has no adverse effect on the Delta 2?
@everydaysolar Жыл бұрын
Yep, don't push the voltage close to the 60 volt limit because if you go over the Delta 2 will shutdown the Solar input and you will get nothing. When it comes to Amps the unit will just "throttle"the Amps at 15 even if the panels could deliver more. I like the second setup much more and if I were installing this in a shed I would do the 2 X 360 Watt (or similar) in parallel.

@@samuelfox8126 I'm planning on 4 Ecoflow 110 watt panels. When you say two in series and two in parallel, do you mean 2 pairs of series and then parallel the two pairs of them all together?
@samuelfox812611 ай бұрын
@@reese9276 yes, that's how I did it and it works for me. Hopefully those panels are under 7.5 amps each so you don't lose any capacity by the ecoflow 15 amp cap.

@@samuelfox8126 From memory, I believe they're about 6 amps....

I just bought a brand new Ecoflow Delta 2 Max with 2 ports of 500watts each and my question is which adapter is the right one between XT60 and XT60i for this Delta 2 Max ?
@samuelfox812611 ай бұрын
XT60i

Do I have this right _ if I exceed the maximum VOLTAGE limit of the power station with a solar array I could blow the power station up, but if I exceed the maximum amount of solar CURRENT the power station will self regulate and there will be no damage - ?
@everydaysolar6 ай бұрын
Yes, although with most power stations they will shutdown the solar input above the voltage range to protect the unit.

and what will happen when there will be 500 + watts?
@everydaysolar Жыл бұрын
If you go over on current (Above 15 Amps) it will just "clip" the current at 15 Amps and not allow anything higher. If you go over on voltage the solar input will shutdown and not allow any solar power in. That is why you do not want to push things on voltage.

And what will be 500+ watts? what will happen? 360+360=720 (550/600/700) In my country, the support tells me that it is impossible to graft as it burns, only 500. But it seems to me that they are not saying anything.@@everydaysolar

Here are a few questions for all the pro's out there. Im looking at selling my house and going boondocking out in the wilds of southern British Columbia. I will be working online with Starlink, and running an average gaming laptop. I added up what I believe my watt hours per day would be... not confident in my numbers... 10,000 watt hours / day sounds crazy to me! but I want to set up a solar, wind generator hybrid system. I also want to hook in a Gas generator/inverter to recharge the batteries if I need it. Ive been looking at these Power Queen 12v 200 ah batteries that can handle up to 2560 watt loads, run in parallel they will give me 12v 400ah and handle up to 5120 watt loads??? IS THAT RIGHT??? or is it still just going to handle 2560 watt loads??? Im just running back through the math again and seeing my max load with everything running at once should be less that 1000 watts.... So here is where I really need help. How many 200 watt solar panels should I get? what size charge controller? Im guessing about a 2000 watt inverter should be good? AND HOW DO YOU WIRE A GAS GENERATOR TO YOUR CHARGE CONTROLLER!!! Can I some how just wire the gas genny into where the solar panels hook in and have diodes preventing the power coming from the genny into the solar panels? Am I over thinking this? I do have 2 gas generators right now, both small, one does 880 watts, one does 1200 watts. How would you hook them in to recharge your solar bank?

There’s no way that setup pulls 10k watts a day unless you plan on gaming 20hrs a day. You got a lot of research to do. You’re better off just buying a premade kit like an EcoFlow Delta Pro or Anker 767 with extra battery.

None of these need a charge controller?
@everydaysolarАй бұрын
The charge controller is integrated into the unit.

Ahhh good Ole grid tie system, so when the power goes out you are still without power.
