i have to disagree with you there, I'm sorry. I belong to the same industry as Charice does (music industry) and that is one industry (just like film and TV) where 'persona' or appearances play a huge part in one's acceptability or disapproval. It's rather sad that she fell into that trap of no return wherein she decided to not just shift her sexual/gender orientation, but change her appearance altogether. As if that wasn't bad already for her career's 'face value', she went all out bad sporting tattoos, a rugged attitude and a trying hard male-acting personality which in my opinion (and probably hundreds of others' opinion too) doesn't really suit her. In fact, and this is not to disparage her, she looks kinda awkward. That's probably because we have all been conditioned by her first ever appearance as a girl, a cute little one too, with a powerful voice, that looked like she was ready to take on the world. But when she shifted her appearance to that of a male, she became 'ordinary', 'lackluster' and just 'one of the statistics'. The drama of a young girl taking on the world was gone, and the challenge to listen to her and follow her career fizzled out for many, including myself. To bring my point across clearly, imagine Beyonce who started out with Destiny's Child, filled with those girly girly trimmings and very feminine accessories. Everyone, including the whole world loved her along with the rest of the girls in the group. Now imagine her at the middle of her blooming career she suddenly does a 180 degree turn, gender-wise and appearance-wise, wouldn't you think that the world, as soon as it receives it's first shock, would find the whole event atrocious? And do you think that the world would quickly recover from that shock? Nope. And that is what happened to Ellen Degeneres. She lost almost everything she worked for at first, all because of her gender shifting episode. But compared to Charice, I think Ellen had good people giving her advice in order to salvage her career. She retained her almost feminine ways, not putting on too much male bravados and NEVER smudging her skin with bad tattoos. And as history tells us, Ellen is pretty much back in business. I wish it would be the same for Charice.
