Faith Jones I’m a 65 year old guy and every time I listen to Charice hit and hold that note at the end I get goose bumps..... She was 16 or 17 years old when she did that performance in Las Vegas. David Foster a big name producer “discovered” her. She truly was a prodigy. The song All By Myself was originally written and performed back in the 70’s by a classically trained rock singer and former member of a band called the Raspberry’s his name is Eric Carmen. The music itself is taken from classical composer Sergei Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto in C minor opus 18 2nd movement And is of itself a hauntingly beautiful piece of music.

The song was originally recorded by Eric Carmen in the 70’s and covered by other artists in the 90’s. Charice had a recurring role on Glee as “Sunshine Corazon”. Faith Jones, Charice has done a lot in her short time. With the show Glee and so many collaborations with David Foster. Outstanding sing but I was surprised to see in the comment section that Charice is transgender now. Wow, what a change! I haven't heard her vocals since her change and wonder how much her voice may have changed. Loved her voice before and will have to look to see what her voice is like now. "All By Myself" was originally recorded by Eric Carmen in 1975, and then covered by Celine Dion in 1996. Charice performs her rendition of the Celine Dion version. :-) By the way, Charice was born May 25, 1992, and this performance is from a concert that was in Las Vegas in 2010, with the DVD released in 2011 (David Foster's "Hit Man Returns").

I was born and raised in California by my Filipino father and mother. Witnessing and seeing at parties events and even performing at the Miss Philippines pageant at the Hollywood Palladium. I can tell you they love music for generations from great singers as far back as the 50's. They all would sing the songs that America has produced and played on the radio. They were not that good singing back in the days until recently I would say the last 15 to 20 years and had no real noteriety until Arnel was found on facebook and made headlines joining and replacing the lead singer of Journey, the rock band. Since then all kinds of great singers arrived including Charice, Morissette, KZ, Katrina. Also there is a trend in the Philippines. Where we enjoy playing arcades and doing things like skate boarding, ice skating, and playing video games. The trend they have is karaoke. I can guarantee that there is almost one in every home and for sure EVERY SHOPPING CENTER THERE! It's like a virus!!
