I am speechless at the level of authenticity and effort expended on this replica. I built one of the first KITT replicas back in the mid 80's, but this knocks my socks off. All that clear plexiglass not to mention the rounded corner parts.. Sheezz!! AA++. As a LIS fan since it was out when I was a kid in the 60's, my hat is off to the builder. Kudos Sir!!

All you need is a robot to ride in the back. Great work guys.
@georgee.williams14497 жыл бұрын
doginstine Most of the film footage of the chariot was shot before the robot was written into the show. That's why in episode in which the colonists crawl out from under their heat shields to return to the crash site and the ship, John orders the robot (which followed them on "foot" to be dismantled and the piecs,stowed away, because when the chariot crosses the inland sea on the way back, the robot is very conspicuously absent.

Well just a fantastic job. Well done. A few years ago I was working up in Mojave California and I was not very far from the place where they filmed many of the chariot driving around scenes and of course the famous crashing on the planet for the first time scene

My gosh this is the coolest thing ever. I was looking for some space pod footage and ran across this. I was 5 years old when the series came out. This took some epic work to build. I agree with the red rock trip. It was the best vehicle in the show from what I could see. What powerplant did you use. It sounded diesel but I didn't see any fumes. Love the interior detail. I want a ride from that mod 60's chair in the rear. I don't even want to know the cost.
@RandyOnTheRadio7 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking, you're at a classic car show, you've entered your 65 Mustang, and yes, it is cool as hell... and then the Chariot from "Lost In Space" shows up... and you get that sinking feeling in your gut. Great replica. (I hope this one is water tight... I just watched an interview with June Lockhart, and she said the one on the show, was not and filled up with water on one of the episodes).
@hastyberford8 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I always wondered how that huge thing fit into the Jupiter 2 with no sign of it from the inside. I bet this is a showstopper everywhere it goes.
@Sennmut8 жыл бұрын
+hastyberford It would have been disassembled, and stowed in trunks/lockers, to be assembled upon arrival at Alpha Centauri. Space aboard, as in all spacecraft, would have been at a premium.
@aliasdyln338 жыл бұрын
Great question 'hastyberford'. On 'The Andy Griffith Show', Goober takes a car apart in one episode, and re-assembles it in Andy's jail. Sennmut, are you saying that the 'Robinson' family, Major West and the Robot (forget about Dr. Smith, due to his ailing back . . . 'oh, the pain, the pain!'), put the Chariot together 'by hand'? That's malarkey!

@AdmiralPreparedness8 жыл бұрын
But of course!
@dongilleo97434 жыл бұрын
I know I'm responding to old comments, but I would love to see someone create a science fiction based camping adventure for people. Call me a nerd, but for sci-fi geeks it would be fun to drive out into the wilderness, camping for a few days or weekend, pretending to be investigating a new planet. You could test soil samples, collect rocks, photograph wildlife, all sorts of science type stuff. Of course, if the "Klingon" camping group on the other side of the hill takes offense at your presence, things could get messy.😀
