Notice that he love chapter13 is sandwiched with this verse:"But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 12:31 and chapter 14:1"Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.” If love has brought an end of the gifts why would the Spirit let Paul continue saying seek the best gifts to live/ charity but to prophesy. Paul says that we are to edify the bod or that the guts are for the edifying / Edification or the body. Yes and for sure as fo edifying love is surely a more an excellent way. But Paul is not saying the gifs at done away. Paul says that if one thinks the gifts are unto maturity he thinks as a child understand as a child doing childish things. Now if you don't mix love with the gifts in edifying of the body the Spirit will cease to function as the Spirit wills. But when we us them in love them that which is in part will be made whole. But in part we see through a glass darkly but after that we conclude that love is the sign of maturity then that which I as in part is no longer in part but whole. And we know even as we are known to God. Today we have people making miniseries out of the gifts; but the gifts work in the church congregation as the Spirit wills are they manifested. What is sad is the Spirit doesn't will when we think and understand as children . That would be nurturing wrongly. Faith tongues of angels make or noise without Edification
