"Charkhole" is a peaceful village in the lap of the Himalayas at an altitude of about 5500 feet, 13 km from Lolegaon, about 28 km from Kalimpong and 73 km from Siliguri. The unforgettable view of the mighty snow-capped Kanchenjunga along with the deep forests of giant pines, cypresses, oaks, shal, rhododendron trees and the hospitality of charcoal combine to offer mystical warmth to the tourists. The collection of diverse and rare species of birds makes this destination a paradise for bird watchers. It is accompanied by the attraction of colourful wings of rare species of butterflies scattered around. Adding some more beauty are some amazing flowers and orchids. The breath-taking view of sunrise and sunset from the nearby Jhandi Dara Hilltop will be an unforgettable experience. A panoramic view of Mount Kanchenjunga can be observed in clear skies. Apart from this, destinations like Kafargaon, Lolegaon, Lava, Rishap, Pedong, Rishi, Rikisam and Gumba Dara can be visited from here. Walking around the village, bonfire under the starry night sky, rural agriculture visit etc. can be done. One can travel to Charkhole any time of the year.
