Television personality Charlamagne Tha God knew the outcome of the Super Bowl as soon as they announced which teams had made it. In this exclusive he states "defense always wins championships," but in the end he believes the Broncos took home the Vince Lombardi Trophy due to "Peyton Manning's white privilege." "There is no way in hell that they was [going to] let good 'ol boy Peyton Manning - whose been a legend in the league, the face of the league all these years - get into that circumstance and not walk away a champion."
With that Charlamagne also believes it's a strategy against Panthers overall this year, seeing that The Black Panther Party mark their 50th anniversary in October. "They not letting no Panthers win no sh**t this year," he voiced. "Y'all really thought that they was gonna give us Beyonce performing 'Formation' - which is a Black power song -, Cam Newton Black a** winning the Super Bowl, and a Nat Turner movie in the same year? Y'all out y'all g-d**n minds."
Press play to hear Charlamagne's opinion on Cam Newton walking out of the SB 50 press conference, Beyonce's Super Bowl performance and his message to Bill Romanowski.

For all of the people saying "No, she's black." It wasn't a debate about race. He was saying that her status is so big that her race and gender is irrelevant Like Oprah. She is that powerful where she can't be brought down for her race and gender. I disagree. You fight against the wrong thing and they will find a way.l0l But I get where he's coming from.

Many rulers over 1,000's of years have been brought down by their enemies and they were all definitely more powerful than Oprah or Beyonce. Oprah was remind that she was black when they didn't let her in that store. Neither of their status is above the powers that be. Look what happened to Michael Jackson.

I'm not the biggest Beyoncé fan simply because the tone of her voice drives me insane at times when she screams (sings) high, but I can tell you one thing, that girl works for hers. She works her fingers to the bone. You have to honor that. She's just on a different level from the rest. For this generation, she is the best entertainer, *period*. No questions about it. She's also extremely calculated too. She's highly aware of what she's doing and it always works. You can betcho last dime on that, *it always works*. I'm curious to know what her next move is. I thought _Formation_ was cute. Not my type of "music," but it's cute. People just wanted something to nitpick. That's apart of her plan..... Dang, Vlad, I thought you were down with the team? You didn't get that _Red Lobster_ reference? lol. It's all right. Great interview, fellas.

How can "Formation" be considered an anthem for #BlackLivesMatter when it has lyrics such as "Paparazzi catch my fly..." and "When he f--- me good, I take his a-- to Red Lobster..."? Plus, Beyoncé is not the first mainstream artist to drop an album by surprise. Prince was the first to do that in 1985 with AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY. I like Charlamagne, and his point-of-view is usually entertaining, but he's giving Beyoncé way too much credit here.

@SoulfulEve 8 жыл бұрын
+Chris Lacy Yes!! And going back further, folks need to listen to "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye to hear something really real that speaks to us. I listened to "Formation" & watched the video & I just didn't get what others got from it. All I heard was some damn hot sauce & Red Lobster.. They want Beyonce to be a revolutionary so bad. That's not her. Listen to true artist with depth like Jill Scott for that. But they overlook Jill. Some artist will give people anything & they accept it. Sad..
@chrislacy1990
@chrislacy1990 8 жыл бұрын
+SoulfulEve Agreed. Marvin Gaye's WHAT's GOING ON album was the perfect example of introspective thought and social commentary. Thanks to its success, it opened the door for Stevie Wonder (INNERVISIONS), Sly and the Family Stone (THERE'S A RIOT GOIN' ON), Prince (SIGN O' THE TIMES), and so on. Don't get me wrong, Beyoncé is an incredible talent but she has yet to create a masterpiece song/album that will stand the test of time. Hopefully she will but only time will tell.

Is she really worth the hype? Its her job to entertain but people act like she made fresh water. A lot people even worship her calling her jesus. If she was fat and dark skin she never be on this level of popularity. I think the fans need to chill out and stop bowing down to these entertainers.

While I've got your attention, in the album "Thank You's" for Warren G's second record "take a look over your shoulder" he thanks Darius Rucker & the rest of Hootie & the Blowfish for the party that they apparently had in Germany. Please ask Kurupt what that's all about next time you see him. Also, I want to get a copy of the Beef 2 mixtspe that you did with P-Cutta, but he doesn't sell it on his site. Would you press up maybe 1000 copies & send them to mixunit & whoever else please. Thanks.
