New Heights

Күн бұрын

92%ers we are back with another episode of New Heights presented by our friends at Fireball.
In this episode, we are joined by an absolute sports legend. NBA Hall of Famer, Emmy Winner, Olympics Gold medalist, the round mound of rebound…Charles Barkley!
Before we get to Charles, Travis has to address some rumors that we might have started on this show, we recap the Chiefs' visit to the White House and what Travis was going to say at the podium, and we give you guys an update on the Ocean Drive Beer Bowl.
In our great conversation with Sir Charles Barkley, we find out why Charles decided football was NOT for him, what it was like living next door to Mike Tyson, how he knew it was time to retire, what it takes to play in Philly and who he’s picking in the NBA finals.
We also get the incredible story about playing against a young Dirk Nowitzki, his welcome to the NBA moment, why Kobe wasn’t a fit for Inside the NBA, the truth about the rumor Michael Jordan used golf to beat him in the ‘93 finals, and the one thing he stole from his time with The Dream Team.
As always, watch and listen to new episodes of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce every Wednesday & check us out on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok for all the best moments from the show.
There is still time to submit your entry to the Ocean Drive Charity Beer Bowl. Send your submission video to @NewHeightShow or email us at NewHeightShow@gmail.com

Jason is the epitome of a great big brother. You always get the feeling that he is always genuinely happy for his younger brother and never ceases to praise and lift him up. His selflessness when he talks about his brother is a thing to be admired.

@@teter9900 I’m so sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you. I have watched a part of the SuperBowl for the last 5 years in an effort to not be one of those Brits that complain that it’s called football and learn what the sport is about but I’d normally have to turn it off at halftime because otherwise I’ll still be awake at 4 o’clock in the morning SuperBowl LVII was the first one I have made the effort to watch to the end! I came across this podcast on TikTok before the game as it came up on the for you section over there and I have been paying attention to it ever since in an effort to learn more about the NFL I have never however had the pleasure of watching a basketball game on TV! I will have to find out how/if I can do that. If you have any further questions let me know.

Both of them yield to Charles (all their guests) when they start to talk over each other. They let the gues go first and work off of him. Travis is especially good at stepping back, showing his respect, and then taking the lead with a comment or story. The show is about the hosts, but the MOMENT is about the guest...the brothers are great at naturally realizing that.

Love me some Charles Barkley….my personal CB story is. Was living in a nowhere suburb of Philly (in NJ) when he was at his height! Out for dinner at a TGIF with my parents; Dad was a HUGE sports fan, Mom was clueless, I was 25 yo. Dad says, “That’s Charles Barkley at the table next to us”. He and I looked for a second but did not want to intrude. As CB got up to leave my clueless Mother grabbed his arm and said, “ Are you famous?” And he stopped and politely said “Yes Ma’am, I am” and he kept walking. My father and I were shocked but it made a great story for years and my Mother never did understand the magnitude of the person whose arm she grabbed. Love you Sir Charles!!!

Jason Kel, SuperBowl speech when Eagles won it all was priceless, he’s been my favorite Eagles for a long time, and I’m happy he stayed here, in Philly.

The Eagles need to maybe consider a trade with KC for Jason to play for Chiefs and with Travis. How cool would that be❤❤

Wow best podcast, knocked it out of the park. It was great hearing about the 80’s players, I was fortunate to be in my 20’s at the time and watch the greatness. Jason agree that Olympic American flag with the signatures is the greatest piece sports memorabilia I have ever seen. Go get another Super Bowl Travis.

Long before Dirk, there was a guy, who played power forward for the Super Sonics by the name of Jack Sikma, who was the first German Player in the NBA. and he won a CHIP IN 1979 against the Washington Bullets. These two played against each Each other twice, The bullets won in 1978, and they came back for a rematch the following yr. I was a Sonics fan through and through. Both Finals were great and Seattle and the Rest of the Washington area was on top of the world
