74th Field Hospital: Arrived Vietnam: 15 September 1968; Operational Date: 14 October 1968; Departed Vietnam: 14 August 1969; Previous Station: New York City via Fort Lee; Authorized Strength: 1968 - 184. The 74th Field Hospital was assigned to the 44 Medical Brigade and it mission on arrival at Long Binh VN was to operate the POW hospital. It bed capacity was 250 beds. The 74th Field Hospital was a reserve unit from New Jersey activated by Johnson with several others. Unit comment
