Great music of my childhood when I used to live at Durazno Way in Ladera Portola Valley , California in 1973. My mom was about to get into the car when the third movement of this famous Faust ballet by Charles Gonoud, was heard on KDFC classical radio station on our car radio....

Il y a longtemps j’étais choriste au théâtre d’Angers (France) pour aider à payer mes études au Conservatoire de Musique. Dans Faust, le ballet était mon passage préféré, et dedans, j'adore N.6 ’’Variation du miroir’’. A cette époque, en France, les compositeurs ajoutaient toujours un ballet pour attirer le public, surtout, il y avait des messieurs qui n’aimaient pas trop la musique mais venaient pour voir les danseuses.

On dit que le meilleur opéra du 19’ est Carmen de Bizet. Personnellement je préfère Gounod et Faust.
