Charles certainly had a lot of not being able to get out of his own way..but he also had the misfortune of coming up in the era he did. If he was just starting nowadays he’d be a superstar, I always felt the industry/masses as a whole weren’t quite ready to accept someone like him.

What Charles absolutely needed was a mentor. Someone to help him stay centered and navigate the corporate waters of record labels. Because he clearly had heart and undoubtedly talented The kid was an absolute artist and unapologetically himself. Something the rap game sadly was not ready for yet. He just needed someone to get him to manage himself better. Keep him in check from the goofy antics and not to release every damn thing he recorded.
