Anyone knows why Charles grew up in Monaco? If I'm not wrong you have to be very very wealthy to gain citizenship and almost nothing is known about his parents. What do they do? How did they got that citizenship?

His family is originally from Monaco so they have no problem with the citizenship unlike immigrants. I know it because I'm northern Italian and I can tell you that some rich people near where I live have a house in Monaco but not the citizenship

To be a f1 race driver you need to have talent, skills, a good sponsor and to be on most cases from a rich family ! I know a lot of promising and extemely talented race drivers who didn't are not lucky enough to live in Monaco and have rich farhers so their carrers are over from their early ages! So I guess that we need in the future a championship only for the talented and poor race drivers!

No. Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton are two examples of f1 drivers that weren’t born into wealth. I think Sebastian Vettel is another example but, I’m not entirely sure.

Vettel wasnt also born into wealth, his father was involved with hillclimbing races as a hobby. He sold his race car to be able to give his son the opportunity to drive in karting. Maybe a normal middleclass family, but not wealthy compared to Leclerc, Verstappen etc.

Not all are wealthy, but actually, lewis hamiltons dad had to remortgage the house and owned an IT business in order to afford the 20 thousand pounds they spent getting him noticed. Whatever racing drivers say, with the "started from the bottom now I'm here" stuff, motor racing at any level is an expensive sport and to get to f1, even with a shit tonne of talent you still need to be richer than average to afford it. Its something many would be talented kids never have the chance to do, and its only something I have been able to start to take part in when I'm probably too old to get on any young driver programs anyway
