This is a comic genius, and a great artist. Just that good.

He was wonderful. I would place his genius and creativity in the same bracket as Barry Humphries. The world is changing, but at least I can still get pleasure from these clips. Thank you for uploading.

I think some people miss the point of Charles Pierce impressions. He was in no way a drag queen but a comedian who happened to impersonate some really famous stars. Yes he was not 100% accurate as the stars he took off but by god he was damn funny quick and talented. Not like what passes for entertainment today coming out of the Rupaul franchise. This is theatre not cheap pantomime. Charles belongs to a very small club of proper talented artists like Jim Bailey, Craig Russell and yes Jimmy James. So do not slag an artist who gave his all to the art of female impersonation. We were very lucky to have him in our lives for so long so let's us all rejoice and praise him here on youtube and not be prissy little queens putting down such a brilliant entertainer. Know your gay history before uttering such rubbish nonsense.

Some of Cavett's best interviews were Bette Davis, the real one, in the early 1970's and it was clear from them that Pierce's impressions were way off - Bette was a far more interesting character than the infantile shit that Pierce peddled for years!

I agree.....I do not see how this was considered a good impression of Bette Davis at all.
@MarthaMansbridge4 жыл бұрын
@@Apollo_Blaze The only impersonations I have seen of Davis that were entertaining were Barbara Heller or Jimmy James - they both captured the essence of her at various ages.
