Glad to see Charles still getting some flowers! Charles was one of the early adopters of using “acute exercise variables” (reps, sets, load, rest, tempo’s) in program design, at least in the mainstream. I was a student of his and still to this day (RIP Charles) one of the funniest people I ever met, he was like a walking book of jokes.

I vaguely remember some of those principals but they were very watered down or more likely not yet evolved at the time. As I remember, I was almost relentlessly bombarded with shortcuts , poor and incorrect diet information and ZERO emphasis on sleep. Instead the whole philosophy was more of a tear down till you fail, repeat, repeat. Thank you for sharing. Maybe sometime you could revisit some other useful principles you discover researching the book. I was reminded of your former vocation as I realized I was getting skilled "book report" from a teacher. Thanks again!

Thank you for the thoughtful Comment, Charles! I will continue to share Poliquin's ideas as I make my way through the book.
