Charles Wright doesn't get enough credit for being one of the founding fathers of funk, he's definitely in the top three with J.B. and Sly Stone.

We mean it, too. I discovered your band in early '69 when the "Together" LP was out. In fall '69 my sister bought "In The Jungle, Babe" and I found "Love Land." When it became a radio single it seemed it was around forever! What an ensemble! I bought the "Express Yourself" LP and to my surprise "Love Land" was on it, too! But friends who bought it earlier didn't have it on there. Was my copy a re-issue? That has never been written about or discussed anywhere that I know of. We love you, CW!

First record I ever held as my own. An old family friend left a stack of records behind in his studio when he moved away. I had a fisher price record player and this one was on heavy rotation!

Was it the old Fisher Price player that was like a small "suitcase"? And what a great first-time score!

None of the bars have this song on their jukeboxes where I live. Maybe it's time to quit drinking.
