Allie to reset the alarm after replacing the batteries you must press and hold the button for 3 seconds in order to reset the alarm itself then it will recognize the new batteries. :)

ATL is like every other large city. You just have to know where to go and where not to go. You stick to the area by the Olympic Park you are good during the day. Luckily a lot of touristy stuff is in that area, the stadium, convention center, philips arena, cnn, coca cola, the aquarium.

The prank on taking the drums was funny! Gotta give him credit though, he kept playing! lol Allie, the area where you have that back wall (where the table is & wanted ideas), what you could do is a painting where it looks like you're going into the painting. (((like the one Melissa has in her home, it looks like a bridge))) then put some decorative sea shells or turtles. Another idea is to do split mirrors. One medium size put in the center, then 2 smaller ones on the side and add some decorative flowers or lights and it will make the room look bigger. Or another idea is putting inspirational quotes on the walls with some decorative pictures. Or do one side wall of Charles favorite things, the other side wall of your favorite things, then the one back wall combine the two themes. Or take pictures of different events & times that you have and put them in frames and above the pictures you can say "family & friends" another side "our journey begins" with having random pictures of the wedding. Or do a mashup of pictures of the Simpson's along with pizza theme. ((or something fun & funny)) Hope that helps!

It's always good to move furniture around like once or twice a year because sunlight coming in from the windows can affect the color of some furniture, and you're able to reach areas with a broom/mop/vaccum that you maybe weren't able to reach before :)

House rearrange: I know, this is too much-- but switch the two major areas. Have the dining room table lined up with the kitchen and the exterior doors. And have all the entertainment stuff in the big nook. You may need a curtain for the doors-- for watching TV in the daytime. I think that the "critical path" of moving people and food around will work better.

We took ours out of near the kitchen. It was always going off. We used to have one that was built in until it went crazy going off for no reason. We originally thought it was the doorbell upstairs but nope. We even had to call the fire department to because we had no clue how to take it down and wanted to be safe. The gave it back but the next day my mom brought it to them, they said they never seen one like it crazy.

Allie, you have the batteries in the same way. Look on the plastic where you put them in, or the lid that covers them. Will tell you what way to put them in. They should always be opposite way, not the same. Flat end always goes towards the spring, bumpy end always goes towards bumpy metal.

It probably needs to be totally disconnected, because your house is newer all your fire alarms are probably on a circuit together, also after you change batteries in some of them, there is a button you need to press. It also is possible that the fire alarm upstairs isn't even dead, or could be one downstairs that needed replacement, and the wires could be all messed up. You might need to have someone come in that knows about multiple fire alarm systems, or an electrician. We had one alarm go off one night when I was younger, it wouldn't stop, she ended up beating the wrong alarm with a bat lmao.

Smoke alarms aren't wired to a central dispatch system. They are wired for AC power and battery backup. Also there is a wire that interconnects all of the alarms so that when one goes off they all do.

I know they recommend using rechargeable lithium batteries. and sometimes the sensor needs a couple of hours to recognize the new batteries as fully charged. that's the extent of my technical knowledge as an alarm Dispatcher

It's very frustrating when the smoke alarm is doing that and you don't know how to make it stop. The first time I had that happen was at 3 a.m. on a weekday. I was ready to take a ball bat to it after the first several attempts to get it to shut up didn't work, plus I was half asleep and not feeling "trouble shooting" at all. Now that I know what to do it isn't a big deal (if the batteries get low before they're scheduled to be changed) but that first time it really pissed me off. My cats hated it too.

That is the worst smoke detector that was made. I had the same problem with mine a year ago. I thought I had it fixed as well, but 3 days after I thought I had it fixed it started doing the same thing all over again. I wound up yanking it down & putting it under several pillows until I was able to buy a new one to put up in its place. I hope yours doesn't start going off again. I know how crazy it made you, but I had a good chuckle when I saw you were having the same issue with the same one I did! I wanted to throw mine against a brick wall or toss it under a moving bus to shut mine up! LOL 🔇
