Charles, too much stress will set off seizures, it doesn't have to be bad stress, it can be stress from happy excitement.
@caryulmer55785 жыл бұрын
blondie. I've had many clients who seizured, & I noticed any stress can set it off. After awhile I could predict when they would seizure because of whatever was happening in their lives, even if it was something really good, & I'd put them on seizure watch. Hope your doctor has given you techniques to reduce your panic disorder. Although some work better than others for different people, one method that works for many people is: put your left palm on your arm between your elbow & shoulder on the opposite arm. Do the same with your right palm on your left arm. Alternate tapping your palms against your arms. It should reduce your anxiety. (Dont know if you want the clinical description of why this works, but the condensed explanation is it changes how your brain is working right then.)
@ellemred4 жыл бұрын
@@caryulmer5578 wow thank you for this, I used to suffer seizures, had my first one at 25 was on keppra then they seemed to have gone after hitting 30. But I still get anxiety over the possibility of a reappearance. I am a stress head so I'm going to try your technique out, I study psych and I've never heard of that before. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 😊
@caryulmer55784 жыл бұрын
@@ellemred You're very welcome. Hope it helps you. You might be interested in taking a look at EDMR therapy (eye movement desensitization & reprocessing therapy). It's used for trauma but is also helpful with panic attacks. It can give quick (& permanent) reduction in anxiety causing thoughts by changing maladaptive neural networks in our brain via connecting the traumatic memory with new information. To do this alternate left/right stimilation of the brain is done (through the use of our eyes, covering first 1 eye then the other individually) to help unlock the brain so traumatized memories can become just ordinary memories. It's a relatively new therapy so you may not have studied it yet in your psych classes. Best of luck with your studies too.😊

Oh, Charles, I was about to comment about touching the bulbs, and this goes for Halogen and HID... the oils in your skin heat up the bulb. I usually wear gloves when working with lights. Also, typically when you change a headlight bulb (especially in a car), do it in pairs so they match in color and light output. I was thinking too, you should upgrade those 896 bulbs to LED's... you can get them on Amazon. Just don't get the cheap ones. LED bulbs will not only look nicer, but they will last a lot longer than halogens.

My daughter has epilepsy and I feel the same way , anticipating the next seizure. Hers are about 1 year apart or less which is good for some people but you really never know when it’s going to happen. My advice is try to not think about it and work yourself up about it, if you have one then you just deal with it when it happens. No need to work yourself up over it. I know it’s hard because I now watch my daughter sleep just waiting for that next one, or to make sure she isn’t having on in her sleep because I never want her to be a lone and me not be there to comfort her. Epilepsy sucks but trying to take a positive out of it always helps. I hope you feel better and I hope baby girl comes soon to keep you busy! Much love

Just about a month ago he had a seizure when he was home alone and ended up falling too. Both of his eyes were black and swollen and he had a big knot on his head. It’s definitely scary. That sucks Charles, I remember how you would have seizures on the last few days of chemo all the time, hoped it wouldn't happen this time, but at least it wasn't anything serious in the end. Hope you guys get some good rest for when the baby comes!
