Not me living in one of these motels for most of my childhood because my parents were poor immigrants and worked the night shifts while going to school full time. We’ve come up with our degrees and our bags, but sometimes I drive by the old motel just to humble myself. Not many people even know that life exists and when people see me now with my Starbucks in one hand and name brand clothes they just judge and think I’ve had it handed.
