That not just it! Most of the video game music is intentionally written with no clear end because as a composer you don’t know when the fight will be over, you can’t sync up a crescendo to a random critical hit on a boss you almost died to. The fight may last an eternity which is why you have to write music with no end. You're not alone... I didn't even grow up with the wii and actually never played a wii but listening to this music somehow triggers a sense of nostalgia that don't even exist to me. Unique chord progressions came into play here. That's also because this unique progression is very very extremely rarely heard in mainstream pop music scenes.

i had to watch this twice because i wasnt expecting what came, first off youre an amazing musician and a fantastic pianist, you can tell you really put in the work to get to your level, when you just played the mii channel music as a jazz piece i had goosebumps and id love a full version of just that, going to the wii sports theme and specifically the /chord, they contextually can be also seen as sus chords cuz if you took that b(add9)/d# and moved the d# up a half step, itd resolve into something equally as beautiful, and this happens multiple times in the wii sports music, im the biggest sucker for sus/resolve and even minor to major progressions, the wii shop channel in bossanova form is very groovy and gets the body swaying and i love that

Ha dang, I didn't realize he didn't contribute any new compositions for ACNH. Totally should have picked up on it though because NONE of the day/night music is his style at all, the charm isn't there. That said, through K.K. Slider bootlegs and other remixes and remasters, Totakeke's compositions still have plenty of influence and rep in the newest game's soundtrack nonetheless.
