I’m a newbie (at slingshots, not life) and I’m shooting 0.5mm bands with the pouch resting almost on top of the middle bone of my middle finger, with the finger horizontal, perpendicular to both the ground and the target. . Essentially pinching the ball between the pad of my thumb and the top of the bone.
