They will say, “What happened to the promise of your coming? Since the ancestors died, everything has remained the same since the beginning of creation ”. Since everything will be undone like this, what kind of people do you need to be? Live in a holy and pious way, waiting for the day of God and hastening his coming from him. On that day the heavens will be broken by fire, and the elements will melt with heat. However, according to his promise of it, we expect new heavens and a new earth, where justice dwells. Therefore, beloved, while waiting for these things, strive to be found by him in peace, immaculate and blameless. Keep in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you, with the wisdom that God has given you. 2 Peter 3: 3-15
