An amazingly haunting video of a very beautiful and serene cemetery. The memorials here are indeed some of the most beautiful on earth. There is something so ethereal about this cemetery. I took part in the funeral procession of the Hunley crew, and walked behind the coffins for 5 miles dressed in "widows weeds". It was one of the most profound experiences of my life. It was an honor to represent one of the crew's grief-stricken families as they were laid to rest in 2004. The beautiful music you paired with the stones is absolutely perfect. So soft and peaceful. I wish others would take such care when they present videos of cemeteries. Thank you for your gift of respect and honor towards the dead.

I lived in Charleston in the 80's for 3 years. Why did I never know about this place? 40 years later and 1 heart attack, I can never drive back to see it. Life is anything but fair. Thanks for the vid.

The grave monuments of the Victorian era in southern states were some of the most unique and beautiful works in stone ever captured. It would cost a fortune to produce these nowadays. Knoxville, TN has a graveyard off of Western Ave where I used to live and it was very interesting walking around observing the different gravestones. One was a memorial to people who were killed in a train wreck at the turn of the century and included a quote that said " I did all that I could." I always thought it would be neat to travel and photograph these types of images and produce a coffee table book with the collection.

i think a coffee table book with that sort of collection would do very well indeed .

The memories that are contained in each headstone is a wonderful reminder of those that lived at one point. Now their skeletal remains wait for the day their souls will gather in heaven to meet our lord and savior. How sad it is to wonder of the lives these people had lived. Soon even the memories of their being will disappear with the passing of time. Only in God do we live forever. I miss you 😇😇🕊🕊🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️🌹🌹🙏🙏

Beautiful. I've never been to South Carolina. The grave art is stunning. The baby carriage is unique--at least in the many graveyatds I've visited from New England to Illinois and South in Louisiana. Beautiful, pensive music as well Thank you.

My favorite city! I lived in the area for about 14 years. I miss it, though I love Montana (where I have lived for the last 30 years). Charleston will always have a large part of my heart.

Wow!!!! Just the start of this got my heart racing with intrigue. What was it like back then so so so long ago??? Tragedy could come from anywhere. Mortality rates torn families apart and devastating losses were common. The world itself was much cleaner than now, but viral outbreak decimated towns.

Who would have ever thought to carve a baby's headstone into a bassinet? I wonder who the little one was and how long ago he or she died? Absolutely beautiful!! not just the baby's grave but the whole cemetery. We visited Charleston many years ago and never heard of this, I would love to go back, we loved it when we were there.

I too was struck by the baby’s cradle and wondered about his/her story. I’m always upset when it’s a child’s grave.

Dear precious one, please repeat after me with your whole heart, "Father God, I know I'm a sinner and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe in the Good News that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that You resurrected Him from the dead in order to restore my relationship with You. Through my belief and faith in Jesus death, burial and resurrection, I am saved. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward. Please guide my life and help me do Your will, Your way through the Holy Spirit. This I pray in the powerful, loving and glorious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Amen!" 🙏 Dear friend, may Father God our Creator, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior bless you, lead you, guide you and keep you in His abundantly loving care now and for all eternity! Amen! ❤️🙏❤️

It's located on the upper peninsula in an area known as "the neck". Its literally right next to the most dangerous project housing on the peninsula, beautiful during the day but would not go there at night. Its literally protocol for police to ride double when patrolling that area.
