This one isn't quite country, but it's not far off and he certainly understands country music like almost nobody else these days claiming that's what they sing. I've got 8 of his albums so far I think, and am getting ready to preorder the man from Waco. His country music is the real deal, and his bluesy rhythm stuff like this is great too. I like how he doesn't really try to combine country with anything else, he may have some slightly different stuff on the same album but theres always a reason it's there and the country is always that very cut and dry true blue golden era sound.
@sandaujosh2 жыл бұрын
Nothing explains “real country” music like the word “dope”
@TylerSnyder3052 жыл бұрын
@@sandaujosh I thought that was a funny choice of word to describe it as well. I think one of the big problems with the mainstream southern pop and southern hip hop they're trying to pass as country today is the heavy influence of pop hip hop and rap music. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't belive anybody who listens to that stuff can truly appreciate and understand real country music, they just have nothing in common. People listen to that crap and for some reason think they need to combine it with country to reach a broader audience or connect with a younger crowd. Just let country be and people can either like country music or not, we don't need to dilute hank lefty and Ernest so it's easier for other crowds to get into.

Charley has love and respect for all music. Some of the comments I read on these videos. He actually considers hip hop a form of folk music and it is. I agree as a person from NYC. Some of the current stuff is shitty but that doesn't mean that it isn't an art form. It's all beautiful roots music. He actually enhances styles and components that were already blended into so call country music. He's not a damn clown in a vacuum. He's way more than you think. Like most people. Stop using him to disrespect other forms of music. Just stop all that shit already. You're actually disrespecting his own background and beliefs. He didn't switch from bad music to good music. It's simply a broader appreciation for American roots music. It's ok if you don't like certain styles but some of the comments are code language for something else. You don't think that he feels that. Are yall really listening and feeling him?

I caught Charley for the first time at the Man From Waco tour ender at ACL Moody Theater a week ago and he was incredible. Met him pre-show at the VIP meet and greet where he played four songs on acoustic right on the floor in front of 50-75 of us or so. He loved my George Jones shirt and was cool as hell. Then he and the band put on one helluva show. Billy Strings was in attendance the night before. I love that they are friends and hope to see a colab one day as two of the best rising stars making phenomenal music in quite sometime.
