Walter Wright uses a single deep and mediums to checkerboard. It looks to me you all use three deeps. What's the advantage to using double or triple deeps?

Checkerboarding was invented for the honey band to be broken, people changing it to Broodnest..

Yes, Walter coined the phrase and it is not interchangeable with brood manipulations, it was meant for breaking up the honey band. We sometimes refer to the brood manipulations as 'pyramiding up' which has a similar connotation. Not sure who coined that phrase, could have been Walt but not sure. Water was a super nice guy. Charley knew him personally and often spoke to him by phone.
