Charley is the kind of guy who could wear the loudest Nudie suit you ever saw and drive a Cadillac with steer horns on the hood, and pull it off. This man is authentic country.

Amen.

I don’t disagree, but look at earlier videos of him playing in subways in NY. Wearing a beanie and urban street clothes. Not saying he ain’t country (he is from Texas after all), but certainly a big part of it is put on to portray a character.
@MikeyPaxton2 жыл бұрын
@@devoidbmx1 True to an extent. We are all searching for ourselves and express that through our appearance. Contrary to cliché, clothes do not make the man.

@@devoidbmx1 Hey get your ass outta this bar, pal! I was a similar vagrant/"dirty kid", and sorry, but wow, we are all the same until we start flying solo, and then we all go insane and wear cool clothes while murdering folk, country, or folkrapcountry if requested... for the low low price of a dollar.. Usually people just walk past you even when you absolutely know that it sounded killer, or maybe even, rippin'.. Basically.. Son, you have no clue exactly where this man came from. I would consider Charley “retro” country. However, I think he is actually a 1960s singer who somehow found his way to the 21st century to save country music!
@Username35345 Жыл бұрын
It’s normally defined as neotraditional country, but yeah he emphasizes a lot of the old country styles in his music and looks. Some of his songs even have the Bakersfield sound to them, which is really cool. Charley knows how to bounce between a lot of different subsets of country and he kicks ass at it.
