Perfect irony is that charli xcx realizes she makes cheesy pop songs but still she is self aware and it makes it somehow intelligent in essence. I am starting to love her.

desecraitonsmile Can you explain the clip to me?
@ichimatsu42475 жыл бұрын
@@googleaccount-nm9zz Things look glossy on her phone, in KZbin videos, and even in Charli XCX songs and videos. Whenever the phone dies she just sees things as ugly (which might imply they are ugly in real life, or maybe that they are just less glamorous.) The second half of the video lost me. Except that she seems to plug her phone into a powerful charger (which is also grimy and disgusting) at the end, but it gets too much energy, and she dies happy by getting too exposed to the nice things she sees on her phone. The emojis might be her cheap feelings

For those who don't get the video; At the beginning she's dancing around in her room watching Charli's video with a bunch of her posters around her room representing her love for Charli. When her phone battery died she was stuck in a void called reality. Then she got tablet and everything's okay representing how technology and social media controls our lives. Then her tablet died and she got pulled into reality again but this time with a deeper force. She was there with everyone who based their lives on technology and on the screen, it showed how Charlie isn't as always as perfect as she seems. She tried to charge her phone and when she did, she got a seizure and this time she was stuck forever. Her face was perfect and smiling at the end with emojis coming out of her head just like when emojis came out of Charli's body.

Very good analysis, Rose. I think you hit right on the head. I would add that people are increasingly self-absorbed, have a desire to be "young" forever (look at the plastic surgery folks) and social media only further fuels our self-absorbtion.

Rose Parker hey i know this is gonna sound really annoying but could anyone who reads this please check out my song CALLGIRL on my youtube page
@VUKKAKE9 жыл бұрын
Rose Parker The more simple explanation is that she is a symbol of people who use music to drown out the pain they have in their lives, and her obsession comes from the "high" i suppose you can call it from listening to her music and how it numbs the pain of family problems and from what i gather the lack of friends irl (her social media was more a fan page for others online.). However her obsession with a musician means nothing to the musician herself (the "buy my album" poster) and that the singer has her own problems to deal with and that she is only drowning out the others peoples pain for money.
@Nikki-gn3un9 жыл бұрын
This video is amazing. When her phone is dead, the girl has to deal with real life, which is scary and awful. Then you see how famous popstars aren't as perfect as they look like and a lot of them only want to make money. But she charges her phone again and then she is saved from the cruel reality.

I can actually relate a lot to this video. I’m trying to get over my severe addiction to the Internet. I actually got so addicted to streaming on Twitch and to Discord that I ended up only eating 1 meal a day, staying up all night and sleeping all day, staying awake for over 36 hours straight, getting very bad grades and not doing much school, quitting my TaeKwonDo class, isolating myself and becoming completely alone and away from any real life social interaction, and in the end, it started making me more depressed. I’m numb to emotion half of the time. I’m getting a bit better, but I’m still very addicted to listening to music on KZbin. To everyone reading this, please consider taking a break from social media, even just for a day. Think about where you are in your life right now. Your REAL life. How is social media affecting you?

Aside from listening to music on KZbin, I am currently on another break from it trying to get better, but my mental health is worse compared to this due to trying to get over a breakup from someone online (we planned to even meet irl at some point) and now with the whole quarantine stuff happening, and there’s no where irl to go.

Marina Wellsway You aren't dumb. The video is about social media shaping reality and how obsessive society has become attach to their tablets and phones. Think about how having a video of someone dying gets a million hits like that cop in the uk that got gunned down or the kid in walmart. Then continue on to youtube celebs like pewdie pie or whoever. On the social media they are big but outside of it they are just average men and women. There were also some call out to the tv show Black Mirror which is a great show. I think it is on netflicks. Anyway no need to feel dumb. If you didn't get it it just means you probably have a life outside of social media.

Well, I'm gonna try and voice out my interpretation of this video. This is just MY perspective, you could take it another way. So basically, when she's on her phone taking selfies and listening to Charli, her surroundings are colourful, lively and beautiful. This might indicate how she feels "in" with the crowd and part of something "cool" and "fun" when she's sharing her photos on chat and jamming to Charli's music video. Everything seems perfect and feels perfect. When her battery dies, she then notices how bland, dark and ugly the real world is so she desperately tries to go back to her "perfect fun reality" when in actuality she's just escaping to an illusion because she doesn't like the ugly truth. We can also see this when she's transported in the White Room with the crazy and self-obsessed adults are taking selfies on selfies and all the teenage girls have collars, as if they're enslaved and unable to go off their phones. She's the ONLY one who's not on her phone so she can see things for what they truly look like. For example, Charli's actual face during the music video turns out to be ugly and instead of the smileys in the background there's skulls instead, but the ones on their phone see it as something so fun and beautiful. Ultimately she prefers the pretty illusion instead of the ugly, real thing so she desperately tries to plug her charger in the fat man's socket (we can assume he's technology or the internet) and gets more than her bargain when she's electrocuted and in the end goes back to her pretty fantasy/illusion.

dual sin Its kinda saying that when her phone or electronic turns off her life is boring and dead. and she's so consumed with social media she's basically become one of the zombies like the ones after her. at the end she's brain dead from doing nothing but social media & electronics. This is the perfect transition from "mainstream pop Charli" in 2014 to Pop 2 where she did what she wanted and not what the record label thought would be the biggest hit. She wrote Doing It super quickly and thought it was rubbish, but the record label preferred it to something she spent 5 hours on. After Sucker I think it's really great she realized how pumping out mainstream pop like Boom Clap isn't all that fun compared to making actual, meaningful songs like Vroom Vroom.

Well, looks like you’re the only one I’ve seen so far commenting on this video saying how much they miss these days, I see where you’re coming from! I feel the same way too, I agree!

I don't get it, what's the message or meaning of this video?
@gladysquispechino25799 жыл бұрын
Sadaf I we are living caught up in our cellphones (social media you know selfies, fake friends, posting every second I don't know y) and we don't realize that there is a life a real life actually waiting for us to live it so I think the message is please stop living through social media go and get real friends and a real life and don't feel afraid of realness even if it's scary and hard

Is this video symbolic like how we keep ourselves distracted by the hopes in a superficial world and when we get iff our phones our inner demons come out. Therefore we keep ourselves distracted in hopes of being famous but it’s all a struggle in itself.

i also feel like its these old people who have had so much work done to them its like theyre trying to stay forever young and forever relevant and theyre so narcissistic, like you see a lot of old people, or just people who arent relevant anymore acting like this today, its quite disturbing.

Many cool messages in this video. I love it, gets me thinking! My favorite part is when the girls hold up their phones and "everything appears to look better through a screen" while they are really just looking into the face of a death culture. this video is fuckin tite! LMFAO Eric is a genius

+Kultrun what do u mean nah you stupid kid shes talking to u on the videos superficiality thats what these kids do 99.6 of the time of social media following kylie jenner??? for what reason??!?! shes not a singer/dancer/actress again superficial. make up artists getting 1mil+ ...again... the idea of following someone on the internet.....again superficial ....if you was to do that in real like that be stalking/harassment the video has a slight message but its overlaid by the accompanied generic pop sound
