Sooo sooooo good, and omfg, soooo funny too!! "What the heck is in that closet in Stornoway?!!" ****Sidenote, isn't it freaking insane that individuals can be elected to Parliament WITHOUT having already passed a security clearance??! WTF Canada!! These politicians are doing important work and have access to sensitive information; those security clearances should be enforced by law and cleared before an individual can even run for office, and updated every year after, not left until after they are in office and seeking the top role in the country--- and then not even being an actual enforceable requirement!!
@chillysnowgirl83226 күн бұрын
I really think the matter of not having security clearance for the PM *and* party leadership positions is something we need to take corrective measures to make sure won't happen ever again, and soon. Brought me to tears Charlie. I grew up in a home with parents whose values grew from their experiences of the Great Depression and the Second World War, and whose political heroes were firebrands like Tommy Douglas. As the US passed on the chance for a true leader “for the people” in Bernie Sanders out of a widespread irrational ignorance about the misuse of words like communist and socialist, so have we voters in Canada dismissed one after another progressive federal electoral prospect - and went against our own best interests out of an unfounded fear of sharing wealth. I voted for one Conservative Party government in my life, and that was Joe Clark’s, because to me he was a passionately committed federalist - and a gentleman to boot. But the popularity of this Poilievre clown saddens me most because he represents the northern manifestation of the destructive MAGA movement, and as a Grandmother I see grief ahead for my beloveds and all Canadians.
