I swear at 5:38:32, Charlie couldn’t have timed that cutscene better. Music had such perfect timing. Edit: seems like sun of y’all are lost so lemme elaborate. The knight’s jumping and landing precisely line up with the pronunciation of the word “flame” in the song, the jump of course lining up with the opening “fla” and the landing following the forward enunciation, ending the word at “ame”. Another nice thing to notice is as SOON as sonic catches the blade against the rocks, the guitar riff starts playing. That doesn’t always happen, since I didn’t get that exact timing when I fought knight.

A lot of people don’t instantly think to parry during the wyvern fight, even tho the island has many parry challenges.. Another thing is people think you need to perfectly time the parry but all you need to do is hold the buttons down and he’ll automatically parry once he’s hit

Kinda weird that it automatically parries though since everyone instinctively thinks Parries are meant to be reaction based...as that is pretty much what they are. I think getting rid of the automatic parry, making it reaction based, and simply making the parry window on the lenient side for Super Sonic would've made it far less overpowering and way more satisfying to use. Maybe have that little string that telegraphs to the player that an attack is coming could change color or something to indicate that, if the player wants to parry, that's the time?

This is just my take. I dont think Sonic was avoiding mentioning Sage's death. I think he intentionally didn't mention it for the sake of his friends. They just spent the whole game trapped in cyber space, and went through a roller coaster of emotions through their time on the star fall islands. The last thing they needed to hear was the news of someone's death. You can even see Sonic looking kinda stoic when he flies down to greet them as Super Sonic. But once they're together, he puts on a smile for them. So tldr, I don't think Sonic doesnt feel anything about Sage's death. I think he does, but he's pretending not to, as to avoid putting his friends through more stress.

i do very much agree with that last little rant about eggman being way more conciliatory and the ending making sonic look a bit like a dick. in adventure 2, he seems quietly sombre about what was, at the time of making the game, supposed to be the proper permadeath of shadow, even giving him a sort of salute, reminding everybody of his sacrifice and giving a last goodbye as the final line of dialogue. feels jarringly cheery here.

Thing is Sonic isn't allowed to show off any emotions of sadness or even Cry due to a lawsuit that happened between Sega and a writer one some of the Sonic comics over a decade ago. He has to remain flat as per Sega mandates after that lawsuit. Not many people know this so it's understandable why Sonic looks like a dick for not really saying anything about Sage really does make him look like a dick.

In hindsight the fight is ok, but it really feels like they were low on time and just said "remember that hacking minigame, let's just drop a Titan and world destroying monstrosity in there and put them in space, there's our final boss". Given how epic the other Titan fights were I really wish this was more cinematic, and that Super Sonic was actually involved.

In cutscenes he keeps looking at his phone, talking over them, having conversations with the chat and making monologues, not even looking at them and paying attention half the time, he's not even reading the subtitles on the Chaos people cutscenes which don't speak English so he's literally missing them all (which is quite evident when he literally just says "I have no idea what's going on" and then proceeded to sum up the story thus far completely wrong). Then in his Moist Meter review he calls the story kinda mid and basic, bro not only you weren't paying attention, you were actively avoiding it ☠️, it's infuriating to watch.

Many people don't know but Super Sonic and Super Saiyan were created together. Both writers spent the summer bouncing ideas and drafts between one another back when Sonic 2 was in development and Akira was doing the freeza fight. The writers are kind of best bros. Sonic 2 was supposed to be out before DBZ super saiyan debuted, but Sonic 2 got delayed a few months.

I don’t believe it. The “Super sayain, Son Goku” (1991) came out a year earlier then sonic 2 (1992). This would indicate that sonic 1 instead came out close to, or a few months within Goku turning Super Sayain. In the same exact season actually. One if the guys at sega said he was a big dragonball fan. That should be a good indicator of where he got the iconic form from. Another iconic form.

My interpretation is that Sonic is just playing with them. Especially wyvern and knight. There isn’t a good narrative reason Sonic’s parry lowers wyvern’s durability to attack or Sonic has to first attack the shield to attack knight.

Some 3D sonic games loses a bit quality near the end, usually rushing the final battles quality or the story itself. This lack of quality doesn't mean this is the same direction for this Sonic as how it has been the last decade.

Just in case for anyone who doesn't know and sees this, the shooter sections for the hacking mini game and final boss give you a shield to the type of shot you use so when shooting dark you are immune to dark attacks and light when shooting light so it's way easier than it looks.

I respect that the Hard Mode True Final Boss did NOT pull punches as a bullet hell. Not that it's Touhou hard, but I bet for damn sure it stopped a few runs. I thought The End was sick, more fun than Supreme which is by far the weakest Titan. For some reason. I wouldn't mind a patch or a mod to buff its health significantly to hear more of Vandalize.

Whether they're part of his circle of friends or not is completely irrelevant. He's been that way since his very first adventures on the Genesis. Not only did he save his friends- almost at the cost of his own life- he also saved Eggman, _his nemesis,_ from a similar fate. As well as avenged an ancient civilization way before his time by killing the thing that wiped them out! Saving the entire world in the process! Sonic doesn't save people just because they're his friends. He does it because it's right! Because it's just, and decent, and above all; it's kind! Also Sage isn't dead. Eggman was able to recover her in the end! If anything, surviving something that should have killed her really DOES make her Eggman's daughter, but that's besides the point. Only problem I had other than not holding parry is Charlie boosts way too much. He does it when he doesn't need to, then loses control coz he's to fast. Then he increases his speed with the Koco making it worse for himself. If your platforming or trying to specifically avoid something just slow down. You don't need to boost everytime you jump or you will go flying.
