Len Gerard I have a vinyl record of some of Chaplin's musical compositions. One of my favourites is Le Boulevardier. A lot of young people today have no idea what real music sounds like. I think it's the zeitgeist. Chaplin's music is sentimental. A lot of music today is rather mundane, tuneless, joyless and frankly quite awful.

C'est quand même fou ce que les anciens étaient doués. Acteurs, cascadeurs et musiciens à la fois. De nos jours, la plupart des acteurs se contentent de pousser la chansonnette et se font doubler pour de petites choses (sauf certains qui ont encore le courage de prendre eux-mêmes les risques).

Cette musique touche les tréfonds de mon âme.... elle me fait rappeler mes souvenirs d'enfance quand j'ai vu le film au cinéma de mon quartier... je me souviens encore...j'avais beaucoup pleuré, mais c'était des larmes de bonheur...du "pur bonheur". Aujourd'hui encore...et à mon âge...j'en pleure encore. Tant mieux...c'est que j'ai gardé mon âme d'enfant. Merci...monsieur Chaplin....vous êtes un grand monsieur.
