That,s a good point! By the way, I wondered the same when I saw another Chaplin’s short film (The cure), one his most iconic and funniest ones. There spinning doors turn up and I didn’t know that type of doors already existed. Then, I searched when the first spinning doors were made. It was in a restaurant of Square Garden in NY, in 1899.
