In no way this is disrespectful, they are very similar characters that shared the same writer and were similar in the comics. Batman is a much more known hero though, that is the only reason we say DD is Marvels Batman because Batman has had success in mainstream for the past couple of decades while DD is just getting started.

Charlie Cox did such a great job as Daredevil. I was fascinated with the character from the release of the first comic. I am fortunate enough to have owned first issues of Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Thor, and Daredevil. Wow, if I had all of those now! There was always something different about Matt Murdoch though - his one recognizable 'super power' compensated (well, probably more than compensated) for a perceived disability. The rest of what he was seemed to ride on his will alone. Charlie brought that to a new, visceral level. I am really hoping to see him in the suit again.

I was there that day - we missed the interview because we waited a total of 4 hours in line for the meet and greet tokens, the autographs on our comics and the photographs - so afterwards we decided to get food instead of making it to the interview on time - but by then the theatre was already full. He said in this interview that he's already received "the call" from Marvel, and big shows like this (Daredevil will have 18 episodes making it the longest show) are planned well over a year in advanced. What a really great guy. I mean really incredible. That show was absolutely amazing and so much of that was because of the writing-let's face it. But Charlie's portrayal of Matt is unparalleled. I just wish in the later scenes he continued to act more "blind". In the first season or two, I really bought that he was blind and it really added a lot to the character, but in the later seasons, he made far too much eye contact with costars, I feel.

In S3 Matt spent a lot of time pretending to be sighted, like when he staked out Fisk's penthouse, went to prison and pretended to be Foggy, etc so maybe that's what you're confusing as "acting less blind"? Also Matt spent most of the time in the black costume with his eyes covered so idk how you can say Charlie acted less blind and made a lot of eye contact when 80% of S3 is him in the black suit/mask instead of unmasked Matt
