Thank you so much Charlie for telling people what I already knew!!! Elvis did take drugs but he had health issues and sleep issues, more than anyone knew! What makes me so angry is for people to talk about him like he was a drug addict and that’s what killed him! I’ve loved Elvis from the very beginning and I love him now and I always will. I was blessed to see him four times and also the last time I heard the last note he ever sang on stage! He sang my favorite all-time song and it was incredible! I remember seeing him and how he looked and as we left we were walking down the ramp in Indianapolis and I said I won’t see Elvis anymore because he’s not going to live long. But nothing could ever prepare you for hearing that he was gone. I think God for you because I know Elvis knew your heart and he knew you were his best friend. As far as I know you are the only one who has told the public about his health issues and also I know he had a horrible stomach issues too. My heart still breaks for him because he was in so much pain but he felt like he had to go on and keep going for his fans. I do believe that in my heart that if his life had been different he would still be here. I love him from the beginning and I love him forever God bless him and God bless you🙏❤️

Charlie lived a few blocks from me. He's buried 10 minutes from me, As kids he was a guitar player. After fame hit they would come home to Decatur. Neighbors would hear the guitar. Then they heard Elvis. People knew and left them alone. It usually gave them 5 days of peace. Then when the press found out they'd go to Smith Lake. Smith was one of Elvis's favorite places, Charlie's old house is still standing. People have no idea.

I knew there must've been something more to Elvis' early death than most people realised :-( I thought he may have had an enlarged heart & possibly a damaged liver from the medications he'd been taking over the years. When a liver is severely damaged, the body doesn't produce protein as it should so bones & muscles ache & muscles begin to shrivel unless you have a high protein diet - it is extremely painful & your body hurts all over (severely). Weight gain is a typical sign of heart & liver problems...but bone cancer...I could never have imagined he may have had that. He would've been racked with extraordinary pain. Elvis was one of those special people that touched the hearts of many and did a lot of good - he was just an earth angel who was called back to Heaven to be with his mamma. God works in mysterious ways - but we were all Blessed to have had Elvis' music in our lives or to have been touched by him in some way. He believed in showing a little kindness. I wish people today could live by that.

Everyone has a side, they wish they didn't. We're all flawed in some way. Celebrity exposes individuals to the public. Fans want to know more about their idols. But the flawed side serves no purpose in being exposed and revisited, rehashed, etc. He was a giant of a man. A generous and gifted individual, who lived in a world so extremely unfamiliar to a country boy from Memphis. And I don't think you can ever grow int something that's ever-growing in scope and nature. In the end, "All that was good about him" is why he remains so special. We don't have to miss him,he's so alive in a different way. And I appreciate his contribution greatly. All flaws aside. RIP,Elvis. And you too Charlie. I think you were a good friend to him.

This is years before others later would eventually know about his bone cancer. Kathy Westmoreland also stated that Elvis told her 7 years before he died that he had bone cancer and she said if he had not been on the medication for his health issues he would have died years earlier. His heart eventually quit and he died young when exactly he thought he would as his Mom, her father and her side of Family all did.

Lucy Presley Well maybe not a whole lot of ppl knew about this, Lucy! Charlie even gave a interview in Germany, i got that on my page as well, and he was telling them the same thing, as he tells us here. I don't think he is telling lies. And u wondering if Elvis knew??? I think he knew. I'm sure he was taking something for it. That explains alot of things about the bone cancer in the end. Charlie even said, that when he looked at Elvis Eyes.....he looked so very tired. I told u that as well. The eyes never lie. He looked very ill and tired, and it showed, and in the end, the energy wasn't there anymore because of what he had. I believe it's true.Btw, if u was sick like that Lucy, would u tell the whole world???? I don't think u would. There are a lot of things we don't know. So when u said, u will find out the truth, that will never happen. Everyone has a right to their own privacy, so did Elvis. Funny.....But i always believed that something else was wrong with him, besides his colon problem and the drugs.....and i was right. It showed big time.

Colin Beachjamaica Yes indeed, Colin. He was very pale, but that doesn't always come from being sick u know, Elvis was indoors a lot, that got something to do with it as well. He spend a lot of time in his room (Graceland) and not getting enough sunshine / light does that to u as well. And true his Mom was sick as well, she also was an alcoholic , most ppl on here don't talk about that, but as u can see in most pictures of her, she does look older for her age back then.....and more tired / rough looking, that's the alcohol.....I'm glad Elvis didn't had a problem with that.....but as we know he had other ones....that leaded to his death in the end. Bless them both, always.

As a person who lives with pain. and on a daily basis,,, walk a mile OR A FEW STEPS in our shoes, then and only then say this man is wrong. Please don't offer a diagnosis unless you are, or were the doctor. Elvis barely made it through anything in the last days. I've been a professional musician all my life, in the same circle, '''long way round, "so to speak, and that's not a job where you need a note from your parents or doctor to return, This profession is as much a privilege, as one is allowed closeness to one''s own soul, and an honor to be with one's fans!! You want to perform desperately, as long as your body will let you. I saw it from afar, like my dad ,a banjo/fiddle player, singer' drop to the floor from a heart attack, dead, having 3 heart attacks before the final one that took him. My mom, a singer' instrument player, song writer, riddled w/cancer..gone. i know what it looks like & the cortisone & other meds needed sitting around the bed. The rumours Elvis was battling cancer have circulated for many years. In a group interview which included Kathy westmoreland and Marty Lacker, one of the star's closest friends and personal aide, Lacker argued it was a rumour started by Elvis' father Vernon. Lacker said: "He didn't have bone cancer. Let me tell you where that came from. After Elvis died, there was a lot of stuff being leaked out of Graceland. And Elvis' father asked Billy Smith to tell a couple of the guys that Elvis had cancer to see if it came out. And that's what happened. And I believe that's where Kathy..." Kathy replied: "He told me (he had cancer) when I first met him." To which Lacker simply said: "Elvis had a good imagination, Kathy."

@@michealrobinson2642 It's difficult to say what ìs my favourite Elvis's song.I love all of them for one reason or another. It depends also on my mood. Today, I'd say. 'Help me', 'I need a shoulder to lean on', 'How great thou art', 'It's now or never', 'I'll be there', I could go on forever. Ciao from Italy!

Well, he may have had bone cancer, he had a lot of health problems no body knew about, he kept it private and who wouldn't? Yes he had a drug problem but many people who are seriously ill develop a drug problem, his doctor most likely took advantage, but that doesn't mean Elvis wasn't seriously ill.

If Elvis had progressive bone cancer and was aware of it so he knew he did not have much time! then all he could do was take strong painkillers and do what he liked most about doing the performance for his fans, so we can't say he had a drug problem or was addicted, we just must say he had to.

Elvis was so lonely , depressed , very ill on the last day of his life, he needed somebody to comfort him. Elvis did not get the right woman who will love him for better or worst and take care of him on the last day of his life. These women liked Elvis”s generosity and popularity. Charlie was Elvis very good friend, he always there when Elvis needed him and he understand what was Elvis problem. Elvis had a good heart and love God very much and now he is in better place with his parent.

He was special. No doubt about that. What's sad about his life is the fact that I believe he never had enough confidence. By that I mean, I believe it stopped him from enjoying the life he created especially in the later years. He should have taken more time off and not done those crazy tours of show after show after show. I think it made him sick. Not happy. Pain. So you escape into Meds. In '70 he was happy. back entertaining live audiences. But that wore off after doing the same thing over and over and over again for a few years. I know he thought that's what the fans wanted. But actually, his true fans would have loved him no matter what he did. Of course we'll never know if things were different. It was unforgettable living during his time.

All disagreements and discussions about Elvis ! Let him rest in peace ! I saw him in lake Tahoe ,in 1975 . just two years after the concert in Hawaii. To me the best concert that was performed ever in music history .When I saw him I knew then he would not live long. He was a very sick then . IT was the day before mothers day in may of 1975 , he honored his mother that , and all the mother there he invited the mothers to have a mothers day party the next day with him .What other performer would do that , he loved his fans .He was always generous and gave to over a 100 hundred donations every year ! Not 50 , 100! He was the greatest singer that ever lived ! Thank god for him to come into our lives. Stop the bashing ,enough is enough ! He is with god ! Thank you lord for bringing Elvis Presley in our lives !

Bless Charlie - he was obviously very sensitive to Elvis unlike some others around him that did him irreparable harm along with the media. Larry Geller seemed to be a good man also. Elvis became dependent on prescription medication mainly for pain - at times he got desperate. Medical professionals say it would've been impossible for Elvis to have remained so professional until the end if he was a drug addict.
