When I first heard Mr. Pellet's voice, I was on my way to Jury Duty in Brooklyn Federal Court. I must say that I thought it was someone from the Midwest doing the announcements. Nice to find out it is a New Yorker!

The way how NYC subway conductors play the announcement over the train's speakers is by pressing this red button that says "Door Warning", and when the conductor presses it, the announcement comes out over the train's speakers.

Since 2018, Velina Mitchell has replaced Charlie Pellet as the new voice for doing PSAs, some transfers, and announcing which stations are ADA-accessible. Pellet remains for his familiar doors closing announcement, and for when a train arrives at the last stop.
