I went to Hershey 2. They were FANTASTIC!!!! And yes, Meryl is nice on ice but she's good on wood too!!!! 2 very talented people and they made us proud @ the Olympics.

Gorgeous routine. Love Meryl and Charlie. The music they are skating to is the end of the second movement of Rachmanioff's Piano Concerto #2. This piano concerto has 3 parts (movements). In my opinion, the second movement is one of the most beautiful pieces of classical music -- it is very lilting. The third movement was made into the popular song "Full Moon And Empty Arms".

Jump entry into spin at 0:19 is from Notre Dame De Paris programme (2012-13) The step sequence from 1:20 is pretty much the basic step routine they always do. The step/element at 1:38-1:45 (Charlie bending over Meryl, no hands) is from their free programme of 2006-07, their senior debut season, to music from Kismet (Polovtsian Dances/Prince Igor). Curve lift at 2:14 is from Shehrazad (Sochi Olympic free dance) Jump lift at 2:36 also from Sheshrazad. 2:47 rotational lift is from Die Fledermouse (2011-12 free dance) Curve lift at 3:10 is also from Die Fliedermouse. All of these programmes were choreographed by Marina Zueva, and of course Meryl & Charlie have always had the fantastic sense of musicality and drama to execute them so emotively - even when they had less finnesse, in the beginning of their careers, they always had the ability to catch the dramatic core - the mood and emotion - of the music.

It's the Rachmaninov Adagio and I think is one of his most beautiful compositions. I'm not sure who played this version, but it's wonderful.

@@dededunn9767 The Russian Orchestra had recorded this specially for Meryl and Charlie for their 2014 Sochi Olympic Gala Exibition performance... At least that is what the commentator said in the Olympic Gala vid.

I do not see any difference the way merly looks at Charlie and the way she looks at maksim. neither of them is her boyfriend so what is the big deal. She is just being professional at DWST. to fall for maksim nah.

lanalang2001 I think that Meryl and Charlie both express greater sensuality with their DWTS partners than with each other. But it seems to me that it is because they do not have the same history with those people. On the TV broadcast today Charlie said that this dance expresses their love of the sport and their love for each other that brought them to this point. To me all their dances show caring which grew from their shy childhood through the 17 year journey to the olympic gold.

Anita Witt Even before I knew Charlie was dating someone else I made the comment that these two danced as if they were the same person (comparing to V&M who were two people in love); and they truly do, the both love ice dancing so much they put all their energy together that it seems like they are climbing a mountain together. Its very special in an unusual non-romantic.

I see a lot of difference. You can see attraction, but mostly the excitement of a new experience in her eyes with Maks; you can see the complete trust and love built over years when she looks at Charlie, like friends with a secret no one else could understand. If she looked at them both exactly the same way, I think I'd lose a bit of respect for her.
