I feel like y’all failed to realize, only thing about Selma that got worse is the crime rate. Them houses and roads been looking like that. Everything looks so bad because we don’t got nun here, so everything shops out of town. You don’t spend money here then the city doesn’t get any. And if they did, the last thing they would do would be giving a fuck how we living out here. You can’t judge some you never been thru. You don’t know shit about these people.

A little work along the way, painting, new roof and basic home care and these homes would have stayed livable. Just shows you what not taking care of what protects you from the environment will do. This is clearly self induced from the past residents . My home was built in the early 60's and is still in good shape. We own my grandparents house that is built just like that and the same age. We took care of it and its livable, cozy and lived I by a relative.

Form of thinking. No one in that community is a victim unless it’s a child. I had to understand that people choose to live certain ways and are comfortable and even when you try to help folks in the ghetto, they refuse it and fight back because you become a threat to their mentality and they don’t want change. But one thing for sure, it’s some hard working folks in the ghettos who are overshadowed by the gang images and the street images. It’s good and bad everywhere but folks in the hood aren’t victims. It will always start with oneself! You can have the whole government choose to help these communities but it will fall right back down to this condition until folks in the ghetto want better for “themselves”. Don’t baby them and make them into victims. They know it’s more in life when they become older. They just choose to live that lifestyle and have that form of thinking And one day Lord’s will, I could become like Dr King and lead. That’s a dream

You're just living in the illusion of an "equal opportunity society." Get rid of her. Children born in poor families will never have equal starting conditions with rich children. Therefore, they will grow up with the realization that everything was taken away from them initially, and they will ignore the laws of the system. They will live inside the system according to their own laws, or they will destroy the system.

not really, no. not from Selma myself, but I grew up in another Alabama town not far off. we only had one public bus, but it's only used by the elderly and you have to call ahead and schedule it. the driver lived in my neighborhood and the mini bus was almost always parked in his driveway.

@@embarrassedcap hm.. I wonder how people get to Selma then, if they work in Montgomery.
@embarrassedcap
@embarrassedcap 2 жыл бұрын
@@abigailaberdeen5100 in general the state requires a personal vehicle to get anywhere. the shortest route to Montgomery is around 86 miles long, so unless you have a friend with the same schedule you can hitch a ride with, you're basically out of luck. anything else will cost a hefty fee. perhaps this is one reason there are so many people struggling in the economy here. it's hard to get to work and get paid if you can't afford a car, car insurance, gas, repairs, etc. to afford those things, you'd need...a job. very few options in small towns though. especially anything that pays well. while the cost of living in Alabama may be low in comparisons to other places in the U.S., so are the wages. we're still under federal minimum wage, which is like $7.25 or something.

That's not what the channel advertises, and secondly, not true. I have videos of nice areas in several cities especilly Detroit where I live, also Baltimore, Philly, Atlanta. They don't get any views and people who watch the channel also get mad when i don't show the run down areas.
