Form of thinking. No one in that community is a victim unless it’s a child. I had to understand that people choose to live certain ways and are comfortable and even when you try to help folks in the ghetto, they refuse it and fight back because you become a threat to their mentality and they don’t want change. But one thing for sure, it’s some hard working folks in the ghettos who are overshadowed by the gang images and the street images. It’s good and bad everywhere but folks in the hood aren’t victims. It will always start with oneself! You can have the whole government choose to help these communities but it will fall right back down to this condition until folks in the ghetto want better for “themselves”. Don’t baby them and make them into victims. They know it’s more in life when they become older. They just choose to live that lifestyle and have that form of thinking And one day Lord’s will, I could become like Dr King and lead. That’s a dream

@@abigailaberdeen5100 in general the state requires a personal vehicle to get anywhere. the shortest route to Montgomery is around 86 miles long, so unless you have a friend with the same schedule you can hitch a ride with, you're basically out of luck. anything else will cost a hefty fee. perhaps this is one reason there are so many people struggling in the economy here. it's hard to get to work and get paid if you can't afford a car, car insurance, gas, repairs, etc. to afford those things, you'd need...a job. very few options in small towns though. especially anything that pays well. while the cost of living in Alabama may be low in comparisons to other places in the U.S., so are the wages. we're still under federal minimum wage, which is like $7.25 or something.
