I think you have the little city of LaGrange, Ga confused with FLINT, MI. In Flint someone might get bored and just do a random drive by shooting. I lived in Flint for over 30 and I saw it go from humble and nice to omg stay inside. LaGrange is nothing like that.

Oh man, growing up, we spent every summer in LaGrange. My grandparent's housekeeper lived in that area. Her yard was covered in flowers, not a blade of grass in sight. Some of the bushes were taller than I was. She was such a treasure to our family. I loved her so much This really pulled at my heartstrings. Fond memories. Thank you!!

my dad used to work at the bakery there in town called the cake box, I dont think its there anymore he worked under the owner Charles Waller....my grandmother had a house on Vernon ST...I dont know what happened to the house. I have a picture of it somewhere

Those low income houses/apartments are beside 1500$ and up apartments. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

I wouldn't say improve so much as gentrify(on a visual level) being that the only areas they're improving are the routes too and from Great Wolf and that surrounding area, as well as The Thread Trail (which I understand a bit more being on foot) both of which they plan to continue build up with retail shops and various entertainment venues. They're thoughts are "can't have tourists seeing this" when in reality, go a few miles from any vacation destination/resort/Park/etc and you will find the same thing. People struggling. The outcome is great but I personally feel the intent is all wrong. I base that off of this - there are PLENTY of other areas in and out of city limits that could use just as much work/help and as it looks currently - they'll never even see the consideration.

Charlie you should travel to Mount Vernon and Yonkers. Although Located in a very wealthy county, these are the two cities that have a pretty high crime rate.

This is my hometown, I live in a new apartment building amongst these houses. It may look trashy, but the folks who live in these houses try their hardest. These used to be mill houses for the Dixie & Dunson mills, both of which have since closed and been repurposed.

I use to live on McGhee st and Stonewall when I was younger. It was well kept. It wasn’t considered the hood back then, but over the years the people didn’t take care of the homes or the neighborhood. 🤷🏽♀️

Lagrange has its community's. Inner city mostly like this. With the exception of historic district there are also million dollar homes about 2 miles from where these videos where taken. Its a melting pot of economical mean.

The south don’t even be having street lights on some blocks and the closest store be a gas station you gotta walk all the way down a dark ass road too.

I live in LaGrange too and I’ll die here before I move to a city where there is 24/7 killings you know I what mean . LaGrange is a great place to live ❤️ He really didn’t drive on the streets that we consider hood ! But as a matter of fact all of our hoods have gotten clean up tremendously! The projects kick em out with the quickness if they even leave trash in the yards I’ve heard !
