When I hear people say certain Black areas in America are "empty and depressing ", it's usually some rich gentrifiers that understand that these areas are actually valuable; and cheap to buy. Yet they want to convince the Black natives that its a sh*thole, with no possiblities, just so they can hurry up & move out. They do something similar in Chicago. They over exaggerate about crime in certain areas, and act like the streets are as live as they were in the early 80s & 90s, just so the older Black home owners can become fearful and sell their homes. They have to do it the corrupt way, because their real reason for wanting the land doesn't align with imminent domain laws.
