@Galidorquest You do realize that just because of someone's financial status doesn't mean they have a bad character or moral standing . That's number one. Number two So you mean to tell me the old woman? Or old people have been living there. Their whole life needs to just get up and move. Cause that area is being gentrified, so that seems fair to you ??? Number 3, maybe petty crime goes down. But none nonetheless. Crime still is relevant because I remember a couple of years back. It was a rich white dude going to the college of Charleston downtown. And he had a whole drug operation going down, and the only reason he got caught is 'cause somebody died
@Blackrage8435 ай бұрын
@Galidorquest Also I don't know since I've been home from the Army, but I remember when these Clemson versus gamecock games used to happen. These college students used to have riots from time to time, tearing up stuff

This my hometown! I worked with guys like this in restaurants. I was going to say that there's not much "hood" left in Charleston because it's been gentrified far above Calhoun Street now where the hood used to be. I was shocked when I was downtown late at night and would see college girls walking back to their apartments way past what would have been no man's land a decade ago. But with all that comes new businesses, restaurants, nicer apartment buildings...but also higher rent. The hood has been pushed to North Charleston...and there is still plenty of hood there. It's just the ugly run-down suburban hoods, as opposed to downtown Charleston's large brick houses and collapsing wooden ones that are a hundred years old.

@user-hq5wq8tm6b the neighborhood is not improving number one. Downtown Charleston is known for flooding when it rains number two, they're pushing out people who's been there before them, and they're raising the cost of living and property and making it hard for people to find decent housing

The reason why its gentrified is because the lack of knowledge. People sold their parents and grandparents homes or lost it to taxes. And or heirs property where the heirs are in different states and dont care about the properties
@Blackrage8435 ай бұрын
That's a major part of it because from my research and from here. Some of the older people that I'd know a lot of us. Especially in Charleston, have lost property and land because of that. The family got split up in. They have some family members up. North or somewhere that sell The land or the property and don't even know if members of the family still lives on there.
