If it wasn't for the stay at home policy you wouldn't be able to drive through jackson ward or church hill so easily. During normal times it will be hundreds of people running around, the foot traffic is unreal inside the courts at night. Richmond Va is a port city and has always been one of the major suppliers for herion on the east coast. Richmond, DC and Bmore are all right after each other on the interstate and the cities all favor each other. I live right between Richmond and DC in 540 VA, we go to both cities daily.

The state floods money into the welfare system and feeding every protest where the beggar's demand more. Two of the newest things is residents in areas with less than 10% poverty who rent to Section 8 get a massive tax credit. There's also a plan to build luxury style Apartments complete with luxury grounds for Section 8. Just the upkeep has a large price tag. The city's get confused on why the poverty rate increases when they tear down one story Section 8 apartment complexes and rebuild with three story Section 8 apartment complexes. These are Democrat decisions.

Richmond is a great city, but you wouldn't know it from the crime statistics. ALL the crime is concentrated in the Urban Concentration Camps - Gilpin, Mosby, Hillside, Creighton, etc. They're cesspools. They may look okay, they're awful. Anyone who tells you public housing is a good thing is lying. All it does is concentrate criminality and ensure the youths never have a chance at a good life.

Riding through mosby I'm surprised you didn't see the mobile command truck out there lol. There and gilpin are 2 spots where outsiders would do well not to stick around 😂☠ P.s. next time you come through Richmond check out Essex, Delmont, Highland Park, and Southside Plaza, Hillside Court.

I think Richmond faired very well on the "hood" scale especially the first projects I bet you can see it from space it is so well-lit. Dicey in some areas, but I'm a transplanted Jersey girl and I have yet to see a hood like Camden, Newark, etc. I moved to Richmond from the VA Beach area last year. I absolutely love it.

@@jakegreen5682 Richmond is way worse than Camden lol. Richmond was murder capital multiple times during the crack pandemic and it’s still in the top 10-15 most dangerous cities in the country. Jersey don’t compare to Richmond, DC or Baltimore

@@JabrenHarris98 guess u dont know bout camden. we stayed murder cap for years recently. there was major police reform. crazy tactics they using now the state took over the police force for a while. camden is still more dangerous to live in then richmond all u gotta do i google it

I have a business 2 blocks from Creighton Ct. there have been 4 people shot in my parking lot 3 died. They deal drugs all day everyday and have for years, the police for the most part turn a blind eye to it. its only a small area that should be policed much better to make it safe for people to live and work without fear of being shot by a stray bullet. The police allow groups of guys to form in parking lots of businesses and hang out, gamble, smoke dope and sell dope. As a business owner in they do nothing when we call the police. I have been told by the police several time that they cant do anything about large groups of people hanging out in front of my business gambling and smoking dope! they just tell me to leave them alone, Yea that is how Richmond Police handle the problem! They allow crime to exist in these areas so they dont have to deal with it in other parts of town.

I live in the shenedoah valley a good 2 hours away. Harrisonburg is small but it's still feels if like it's gonna grow that why I'm trying to grow with the city. We have some parts of the city Northeast that has reputation and I lived in a set of apartments there for a while. I finally gotta place downtown and yet my job is outside the city for a new enviornment. But even learning to travel dc area and taking a trip to the east coast opens you up. Knowing your city, isn't city at all and is barely budding. But the 2nd week in I heard gunshot out my window and I see a man on the steps outside crumple over then shout to call 911. He said he was shot. We did but my bf told us to back away from the window. Idk what happened that night or where that man went cause we stayed in the bedroom but if that was a small part of the city it wasn't pretty.
