My dad was a bricklayer in the states for over 50 years. Hardest working man I’ve ever known. In my younger years he would take me to work with him and I’d mix the mud by hand and bring it to him along with bringing him the bricks. In all those younger years I’ve never seen him do some of the things that you do. On top of that, sorry to say I can’t understand half of the things you say and do. Must be an American😅 thing. What’s great though is I enjoy the hell out of your work ethic and the work you do. I’ll figure it out one of these days. Great job. You make the profession great.

Ive been a bricklayer since 2002 and I wouldn't describe it as a dream come true after doing it for 22 years sometimes it feels more like a nightmare and if your dad is a bricklayer why haven't you spent any time working with him? Your dream job is definitely attainable there aren't too many teenagers whose dream is to be a bricklayer good luck and the younger you start the better

It’s easy to be a bricky, it’s hard to be a master bricky. Stick at it nd don’t give up, my motto is every brick I put down I try to make it the best layed brick as possible, don’t worry about speed that will come with time. Best advice is try get a in with a good squad of old brickys and don’t stop asking questions, learn as much as you can and never stop. This is an age old trade and we can’t let the standards drop. All the best lad🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

@@poaldavidson4 you’d look in a nash book and build it as per drawing. Not hard. Once you know how to lay a brick all you need to know is the method of how to build it. Herringbone, corbels and bullseye aren’t exactly hard either. I built a bullseye in 3rd year at college, I’m 20 years in I’m sure I’d manage

So much cast stone is ruined by bricklayers handling it like bricks and not treating it like a stonemason would. The beds and perps should be treated differently than a brick joint or bed. The most important thing is not to get the brick mortar over the cast stone as it will stain.
