This guys the real deal… Sheer bloody poetry in motion… Doesn’t get any better than this. Top tradesmen & craftsmen like Charlie are worth every penny they get… It’s tragic that there isn’t enough young blood coming through the trades anymore. For the last 30 years they’ve all done Mickey Mouse degrees at Uni & ponced around with gap years etc. Fir decades this Country has not invested in real apprenticeships for Brickues, Splasterers, stone masons, fabricators, welders , engineers etc . Now it’s coming back to bite em in the jacksie… cuz there’s a shortage of skilled workers nowadays. The Government should’ve put in place training programs & subsidised apprenticeship wages with top ups for the learners & tax incentives for employers training the young bloods also. It would’ve made more sense than paying them untrained & on the dole.. or as unemployed overqualified wannabe lawyers etc from Uni who still can’t get work. Anyway. My rants over. Charlie’s work ethic is astonishing & my & his team are a credit to him & themselves. I thank you Charlie… Great content..

I'm curious as to why you switch between pick and dip and traditional? Is there some less desirable bricks or conditions for pick and dip exc..? Quality work as always.

He does like to switch it up I know sometimes he changes depending what height he is at he also switches from perping the brick on the wall on the lower courses and perping the brick in his hand on the higher ones it can also depend on the weather and type of brick

People are gonna shit themselves when they see ur better at traditional than them and pick and dip 😂 top bloke quality work as always

There's a few gobshites on insta who think they gonna take Charlie's crown at super trowel who can put numbers down but loose alot of points on quality I've been on trowel 28 years and worked with all sorts I can tell he's a consistent money maker whatever the lift conditions etc Charlie is not necessarily the best rob songer type brickie but new build estate house brickwork is bis market and he does it well

Is there any way to know for sure that your bed joints don’t have air pockets? I’m working on an old building and I can regularly see where the furrows never filled in.
@reivanen5 ай бұрын
what is the point of such a concave brick? seems it just wastes a huge amount of mortar, and as the hole is filled it won't even work as insulation air gap. Our bricks have vertical holes in them, and when you put the mortar on it won't really go into the holes if it is thick enough. Also the top and bottom surfaces are rough, not smooth like here, so the mortar grips much better.

Hey Charlie why did they have you lay 4 courses of blocks before starting brick looks like it's fairly flat 😊

It's all below ground he's just getting to the Airbrick course ,. Basically non of it is seen so why waste bricks.

Yes, thats as good as it gets But I feel your using more effort for less work in return somehow. Messing with the bed too much and it was a little thin in places. I like it when You chuck them in and use the level on each course to line them up perfect after. Seems more efficient and better. Each day is different depending how You feel though a good method to teach your apprentices aswell "Traditional."
