Great to watch this. Thanks for sharing. I've been researching the right hair transplant for me. Different to your Asian client, I'm white with fine hair. A recent doctor recommended use of a "WAW" extractor as he said it reduces trauma on the follicle when removing it. Another clinic said this was a sales ploy. What's your take? Is it more easy to damage fine caucasian hair, then coarser thicker Asian hair during FUE? Thanks !

I don't know that particular tool. The website has some discussion about suction being used to remove the graft. Go back to a very old video of me working with plants...I think its on my website as well as youtube site. Anyhow...if you work with plants...you don't just pull the plant out or you'll rip the roots off and it won't grow well...you gently scoop the plant out. Well..even the least traumatic FUE is not that gentle on roots..which is why all but the thickest hairs...do worse with FUE than FUT. Root trauma. But certainly suction would seem to be more likely to suck the "dirt" or "surrounding soft tissues" off of and FUE than a gentle pull. I have planted thousands of real trees, and hundreds of bushes and occasionally help my wife with her flowers.... Plants roots like GENTLE. I assume, after 29 years of surgical experience...that hairs react similarly. Thus I am picky on FUE candidates and we do the entire case by hand. The fatter the tree or the hair...the harder to damage when manipulating it. Good question though sir. We virtually never would do FUE on anyone with FINE hairs for that very reason. On my desk top but I can't figure out how to attach it to this...(it is in another video or 2) is a pic of a fine hair guy my age who supposedly got 6000 fues over 3 surgeries and there may be 300 hairs that lived. I offered to repair him, however he was still paying for his surgeries elsewhere and hoping for growth at 4 years. Proceed with caution and commons sense.
