WHAT IS IXION?
IXION combines city building, survival elements and exploration, into a thrilling space opera as you explore the stars. Propelled onwards through a perilous journey, you are the Administrator of the Tiqqun space station, charged with finding a new home for humanity.
A population to manage, survivors to find, cryopods to recover... Maintain your crew's trust in the corporation that started this venture, or face failure and mutiny. Six sectors can be unlocked within the station, each able to house more population, support new jobs, and provide opportunity to monitor the crew with the Data Listening System. Will you bring hope to the people?

@@CharliePryor not true. There is a channel called mkiceandfire. He has millions of subscribers, and makes substantial profit off his no commentary walkthroughs. Gamers all over the world use his walkthroughs to help them, and some even go just for the entertainment value.

@@freedomwriter1995 I don't care what others do. That sort of stuff isn't for me, and just because it works for some, doesn't mean it'll work for others. As far as the early access to games and stuff... That's already happening here. 3/4 of this series is already recorded. :) I did say IMO. It's a personal taste thing. There's something on this network for every possible type of person. I find no value in no commentary gameplay, so I don't care about it

I don't know if you noticed but, there's a unused cargo ship standing by, instead of building new one (which you used to plan) why not just assign that to the 2nd docking bay (or 3rd) that way you won't neccesarily need to build a new one

Also Charlie - thank you for playing this game. I know many people do it in many ways, but one of the reasons I keep coming back to your content is how your commentary adds to the gameplay and shows the thinking behind what you are doing. Really helpful. For someone who doesn't play this game (yet) its such a joy to watch you work. Please keep them coming! P.S. your last video you said something to the effect of - " I covered it in the last video, but I don't want to force you to watch it, so I'm going to say it again, etc. etc." - that was pretty cool, you didn't push me towards it - small thing, but shows you really do care about the content and not just the views!!

Hey Charlie! Thanks for showcasing this game, popped up on my steam list and you got top billing in the KZbin algorithm when I searched for it. Ran through your videos and unless I missed something, I didn't see you ever having posted a video of Startopia! An old game at this point but super cool... as soon as I saw this game it made me think of it with the circular station... different concepts I think. This seems like Frostpunk in space more than Startopia. I also was thinking with some of the cutscenes and storyline there is some really cool Homeworld vibes! Not sure if that's a game you've played yet.

Never played Startopia. Never even heard of it honestly until your comment. It does have some age behind it, but then again I've played like 8 seasons of Prison Architect at this point too, so I'm not necessarily opposed to older titles

Just saw a basic gameplay video that was released by Real Civil Engineer and thought the game was interesting. Your video then popped up as a KZbin recommendation and I am really happy that I clicked to watch. I have enjoyed how you have played and gone through the game and am really enjoying the series. I played frostpunk 1st version in the past but i got rapidly bored coz the replayability was null... once you played it you know there will be always the same succession of events this make things predictible and boring... i m afraid this game might be similar... nevertheless nice gameplay keep up the good work.

It's not that difficult if you just focus on the only two resources that matter. Alloys and food. Nothing else matters all that much.

Are playthroughs different from one player to another? I never got the mission to research for batteries yet I made them and Jupiter has a very important mission that requieres the construction of another kind of motor I believe.

So this game looks amazing and I want to play it but I'm terrible at city building games and I've seen multiple negative reviews on Steam saying the difficulty curve is way too brutal, stuff like things that are literally irreparable start happening and you can't seem to ever get it taken care of. Is that last part true or have you gotten far enough into the game to tell for certain, yet?

Charlie Pryor That's good. They were saying things like accidents happen way too often, people start rioting at the slightest thing, and a couple other things. The game has very positive reviews so I kight pick it up.

There's a few bugs that can be game breaking, but also the game really lacks in information in some crucial areas. The real problem with the game is it's really punishing in how it wants you to play. No room to experiment....and also little room to actually maximize everything. Another BIG issue is resource storage. You can't transfer resources between sections if you're trying to move all of a resource from one storage depot to another. And for sections with cargo bays, you absolutely need a depot there, because when ships bring in resources, it will not transfer them to other sections cargo storage. This creates a huge problem with having to create copies of every depot in every section, which takes up way too much space. There are also a lot of "gotcha" event choices that just screw you over just because, and "trigger" events that happen when you do something, that can basically end you if you trigger it too early....only you won't know you're triggering it at all, so you get moved to a stage of the game you're not ready for yet while you're still trying to gather resources. It's also very easy to end up in places where resources just aren't moving around as fast as they could, despite having plenty. But I'd say the biggest issue is the game is way too tedious, to the point you realize you're no longer having fun after a certain point. You no longer feel like you're being challenged, but rather, just being swamped with endless micro management. And there's a lot of dependencies between buildings. There's some buildings that literally do nothing unless you have another building -- and the game doesn't even tell you that. So here you are building a waste recycler, and oopsie, it doesn't work, because you also need a policy building to set recycling policy. Dumb AF. And whoopsie, now you don't even have space to build the policy building, nor is it researched. Oh and all sectors are completely self contained, so there's no sharing anything except resources. And if you want to re-arrange to make things more efficient, good luck, because the game dismantles building soo slowly that you could run into serious issues before you can remove them and re arrange everything. The game has no move building option at all. So you end up having to do a lot of doubling up on things so you don't lose the benefit of something while you're moving it....which you might not have the space to do. So yeah....the game is really just a mess. And with having to constantly repair the ship the WHOLE game, non stop, I think they really didn't adequately give enough breathing room with enough resources available on the maps, because you're not just entering an area and doing challenges, you're on the clock the ENTIRE game, because of that constant repair being needed, even if you're just sitting still, you're repairing, and it's eating up like 2-8 iron every single cycle. EVERY. SINGLE. CYCLE. You honestly can barely even bring that much in, even with 2 airlocks and 4 cargo ships. So they made quite a few values just way too tight, because they want to force you to play the game and die dozens of times. But just like it's tedium, even remembering all the events and things you need to watch out for on future playthroughs, is also just way too tedious. To put it simply, the game doesn't feel like a game, it feels like a job that they should be paying you $200K a year to play.

I am not finished with the episode as of writing this so you might realize it later but I wish to say it so I don't forget, but I think you built an unnecessary at 27:11 because those apartments you put a road from, also had arrows on their sides which already led to other roads. Unless each arrow itself is considered a different room in the apartment block which would seem alittle odd, that road you built is not needed.

Please help, I like this game, but I can not play it because it is huge fps drop ( lagging ) for example when I try to switch location or open expedition dialog window, it was smooth at first but become horrible later

For some reason, I can't get the next sector to open up. The workers get transferred, but the food etc. is not getting transferred. Anyone else seen this? Am I missing anything?

if you set 50 in an sector all surplusover 50 ,will flow to other sector depend on the limit you have set. sector 1 50 sector 2 100 if will flow from 1 to 2 at the limit of 100.

Your city planning skills are far better than mine. You wouldn't want to see my Tiqqun sectors - I have a lot of wasted space that I can probably fly my science ship in between my buildings. But boy is your management and admin skills leagues below mine - you're building way too much, too fast, you weren't heeding messages, the crew's mood or their workload. Your system map is still mostly yet to be surveyed despite having a probe launcher and with what you little you have surveyed, your fleet doesn't know what to do anyway since you haven't set the priorities straight. I'm sure you've probably improved a lot later down the line of this series, but it's not looking good for now.

@@drbirdie this is explained better later, but as your hull goes down, the efficiency in repair goes up. This is because it is easier to find damage and repair it when there is more to see. As the hull gets closer to fully repaired, locating the remaining damage takes more time, and efficiency is reduced. What you are seeing is an equilibrium point, where damage is occurring, and then is immediately repaired. This balance will show you a negative rate, but it’s is being held constant based on that adjustment
