I would like to mention at that last Piaffe and piroutte, even though the horse was kind of like "What?", she remained calm and did not harshly correct him. She just kept asking untill he got his rythm back. The horse just had a moment, and she understood that.

Extremely clean work from Charlotte. You’ll never notice even a slight clear order to her horse. Everything extremely subtle. And my word, that horse can move. Look at those passage, piaffe transitions and that trot. Crazy!

Ive gotta disagree, her cues are very visible, he hands are moving all over the place and her leg cues for the canter pirouette are very pronounced on all the horses she rides. If you want to see silent cues, visit the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. Those guys make it looks so easy!

Look at between the horse's back legs. Notice that there's no foamy white sweat. This means that the horse is not being asked to do things beyond his level. He's strong enough to do all of the movements. It also means that she's not overworking him.

Unfortunately for poor Charlotte, Valegro is becoming her bete noir; everyone seems hell bent on comparing each horse she rides to Valegro - people........... PLEASE STOP!!!! You must understand that Carl and Charlotte got very lucky with Valegro (don't forget Carl tried to sell him when he was younger but was unable to). He was an exceptional talent but we have to move on - 99.99% of riders will never get to partner a horse that is capable of taking them to the world No.1 stage and the dizzy heights that follow. Charlotte and her team did absolutely the best by Valegro; nothing has happened to him, he is still at home with Carl and happily enjoying his retirement.

I respect everyone’s opinions, but I believe that unless you are on that horse, in that arena, doing the exact same test at the exact same time, you have absolutely no right to criticize her riding. I know people expect Charlotte to be flawless and perfect, but she’s only human! She’s not God! She gets nervous, she gets stressed, she worries, she MAKES MISTAKES! It’s NO BIG DEAL! Everyone has those moments when you go like “Oh curd that’s wrong!” Including Charlotte! That horse is young, she needs time, she needs experience! Jeez! Why is people making such a huge fuss?! (Sorry some of the things people said really pissed me off)

Those ears tell how cool and willing to cooperate this mare is. Reminds me to the after second WW Trakehner horse breed. Those ears told you rightaway what horse it was without even looking at the elkshovel brandingsign. They were even used on farms for lighter work. This mare’s canter is better than her trot, her canter pirouettes are the closest to a true three beat I’ve seen in a while. Unfortunately every extended gait movement was filmed at an angle that makes it impossible to see if there is unison in reach and angle.

Great work and a very promising mare but Im disappointed about the music choice... I would have loved to hear a new soundtrack that suits Freestyle because it was a music used for Valegro and it just made me see more the mare's mistakes (as she is not Valegro) than just enjoying her first grand appearance at this level.

I agree with you, she just used her old music and routine to get the mare used to the level before she moves on to higher degrees of difficulty and music that suits the horse a lot better. Charlotte is now working on a new freestyle with Tom Hunt for this horse

Beautiful performance. EXCELLENT RIDE. But please, please change the music. This music is Valegros music, and it will always be foreshadowed by his brillance. Mount St. John deserves better for all the hard work

You don't know much about dressage. The white mare? She hasn't got a white mare, she has Florentina who is grey. Her best horse after Freestyle is En Vogue who has just started Grand Prix and got 81 %. Charlotte has at least 10 horses all on the verge of Grand Prix to look forward too.
