My favourite era of the band was with Charlotte in (much as I like Trailer and 1977). Great guitarist, her harmonies and image gave them a real edge

Much as I love the boys (Ash) they were never so glorious as when Charlotte was in the band. I do hope they can play together again some day.

Well they did do a few anniversary shows of Free All Angels since your comment, I missed it due to illness, but luckily I'd seen the previous anniversary shows 10 years before! Bound to be some footage on KZbin.

Odd that KZbin has recommended this to me just after I've watched Charlotte playing with Ash again, on their Free All Angels anniversary tour. It's the second time I've seen Ash this year and (although the boys are great) I think they're so much better when Charlotte is with them - her vocal harmonies, guitar and keyboard all elevate the music. She's so much more than the 'token girl' and she should never have been portrayed that way. I hope this isn't the last time she tours with Ash but, if it is, I'm honoured to have witnessed it.

Charlotte is awesome and it makes me sad hearing this but i wish i knew more as to whether it was a band decision or a label decision to get a "token" girl, Or at least that seems to be how charlotte feels. Charlotte hatherly's solo music is criminally underrated.

Been listening to that band for years. I’m a musician myself and I know that Charlotte Hatherley, brought the energy to ASH that it needed! I have to admit that I stopped listening to their music when I found out Charlotte wasn’t in it. That’s ok though. Stars often shine brighter on their own anyways. I’m still a huge fan, Charlotte! Was so curious about her ever since day 1! Amazing artist!

Metldown was Ash's best album by far, and I think it for sure was in good part thanks to Charlotte's guitar and vocal harmonies that were the missing piece of the puzzle to make the band sound great. Orpheus, along with many other tracks from EA's Burnout 3 game, was what made me fall in love with Pop-Punk music. And I have to say it was one of my favourite songs in the game, and still is today among my most loved Pop-Punk tracks. So yeah, Charlotte, you did make a difference I think for many of us.

Makes no diff in or out. Ash continue to soar strong. Tim is an amazing guitarist. I heard she left coz they were listening to Smashing Pumpkins a lot. A band she doesn't like which is quite surprising as Ash aren't too far away from that.

Saw Ash a couple of times live about 20 years ago (I can’t believe I just said that). Both times they were one of the touring opening bands for another band. I was 17/18 at the time and was crushing hard on Charlotte. She was so hot and had that sporty European look, lol.

Attraction or no attraction, people shouldn’t be judged for their appearance. They should be judged by the quality of their contributions to the world, and by what comes out of their mouth when they talk. Charlotte seems cool on both accounts.
