I wish someone inspired me like that when I was learning to play the double bass. Would have been a world-famous double bass player by now!
But on to more important notes:-
Am sure the world and her wife has seen this film already but in case anyone who hasn't yet, be warned, this movie is one of the most triggering movies out there.
While I can understand why some people may have issues with this movie, I, on the other hand, thought this movie was almost revolutionary.
Usually, on mature audience themed, female-led revenge movies, the female victim has her dignity, pride, self-respect completely stripped off and what you're left with is an empty shell; almost a zombified female seeking revenge for what was done to her. One would almost be too cautious to even feel sorry for her, for fear off stripping off whatever self-worth she has left.
What this film does, is not label the women who were victims, with the "alright, you've been violated so you're the victim" tag. They turn the situation to their advantage and take their revenge, in their own way, however way they feel fit. Yes, the process was extreme but so was the situation they were under.
The actresses could have made the film trashy, third-grade nonsense, but they didn't. I also liked how they told the story. I didn't know whether I was watching a revenge horror, home invasion horror, a Cabin Fever like horror or the classic stalker horror psychological thriller.
I am looking forward to more clever story-telling of this kind and less of reducing the victim to nothingness and more of giving her the power to do something about the situation she's in.

I freaking love this movie. Lizzie's eyes kept sparkling and Charlotte's softness got me so bad. And I must say there are more than 2 plot twists and they make the movie even better and more exciteddd. Gee I love the movie.

@@Sweetpicklehater, that's true, isn't it? The thing is, I came across different articles about the movie on my phone about the psychological aspects (heck, I remember reading something about Allison Williams having a fondness of portraying characters that are the opposite of a likeable personality, hence her Get Out character) as well as coming across a video describing how The Perfection literally made audiences sick. I thought nothing of this LGBT-related romance in the film until I came across other videos about it, including this one.

Thanks for publishing... I was one of those who absolutely hated when the movie turned. Turned out to be trash. Sensational revenge-driven violence and child abuse totally ruined it for me. I hated that the serious matter that was revealed was treated so carelessly and without respect for real life abuse victims when turning their traumas into sensationalistic garbage. I liked the setup in the early part of the film and the chemistry between the actors. The actors, photography and direction was ok/good. The whole idea of the film, and the script, is the problem.

@Michael Anderson - apologies for the late reply Michael. What you said totally made sense - the sensitive issues that people face in real life were callously handled. However, I saw the movie like reverse psychology. Sometimes a movie treating these issues with genuine regards doesn't receive the response like a movie like The Perfection does. Twisted logic I know - but I really hope to see less "broken women" and more "braver women"; wherever and however the braveness comes from really. But totally agree with what you said though.

I probably should mention that I don't like horror movies, not even a little. 😀 So even if the end part had been made with more concern, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it anyway. I had no clue what the film was about when I started viewing it, I thought it was a drama or romantic drama... 😀

@@weepyeyesonprozac Agree fully though on showing more of strong women. I don't really like action movies either, but I still had slight pleasure seeing Noomi Rapace beating up criminal men in Close, earlier this year... And I really liked The Favourite...

@@micke_mango, horror films aren't my cup of tea either. I will tell you that I saw a horror film called Get Out, and I don't view as a horror film with the romance in it.
